“Good hotel”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

We checked into the hotel and were told we had been upgraded to a suite. We were here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. The room had a super kingsize bed which was very comfortable and the decor was good. The bathroom was of a good size but needed refurbishing.
We had an excellent nights sleep. It was lovely being able to walk across the road to Hyde Park and into Kensington Gardens and we decided to visit Kensington palace which is well worth a visit.

Room Tip: The suite was very nice and very quiet, although the bathroom needed refurbishing

Stayed here for just a night. I had stayed in the Kensignton Garden one but this was different.
Goods : The decor was Victorian which I really liked.Location was perfect just 4/5 mins from Lanaster Gate Tube.Service was good. The room was spacious & well decorated.
Bads : It litrally took around 5 mins for hot water to come. Its written that it might take upto 1 min as they use old heating systems. But then again it can be ignored.
Overall : A wonderful stay & recommended.

At first glance this hotel shows some promise: reasonable price for 4 stars hotel, OK location on Hyde park not far from the tube and 15 min walk to Oxford street (if you really like walking in the rain) and nice small rooms. Until you go in...
The queen is very small if that's her bed. It hardly fits 2 adults.
Looking at me from the window were couple of construction workers standing on the balcony. I was upgraded to the suite for an extra 20£ a night. Yeah, sounds good right?
Well, not really: it took a strong hand and will to flush the toilet, the rain came down harder than the water in the shower and at roughly the same temperature, safe was broken, heating not working, door card needed to be changed 3 times. Enough or you want some more?
Hey, at least the staff was courteous and London is always fun ;-)

We loved the history of this hotel and could see how it initially would have been a typical house in London.

As a hotel the service was nice. Food was pleasant and breakfast set us up nicely for the day. Lots of variety fo us to chose from.

Service was warm, with some great recommendations from the fella that served us at breakfast.

We will be back

Stayed at this hotel the same weekend in 2012 for almost half the price. Unsure why this year was so much more.

Lovely hotel as usual. Clean, friendly staff. Quiet. Fab location, just 5 min walk to Lancaster gate tube. We parked at the hotel also for £24 per day and it was easy to get to by car.

Arrived Sunday evening (3.11.13). Allocated room 220 but had to request a move on 4.11.13 due to noise within the room resulting in no sleep. Room is located next to a lift and there was a constant tinkering sound in the room.

Hotel receptionist most accommodating and moved us without question or hassle resulting in a restful second night sleep.

Hotel breakfast is excellent, buffet style full English, continental, cereal etc. unlimited juice and tea/coffee.

Will return to this hotel again purely due to location, cleanliness, convenience.

We appreciated our stay in the Thistle Hyde Park: location is perfect and if you come with a car, they have a parking and outside the congestion charge area! We had a very large room perfect for 1 adult and 2 children. The building is typical of London and is well furnished. We recommand!
