“The best hotel in London!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 7, 2013

The Langham hotel is one of the best hotel in London.
The last year I have visited this hotel three times: great service, amazing breakfast, very clean and big rooms, I always book the same room and they provide it without any problems. There is one old concierge, unfortunately i forgot his name- he is the best person i have ever met: very kind, polite and very attentive.
Hotel is located in the center of London, very expensive hotel, but it is worth to stay there.

Highly recommend during Christmas time, decoration is amazing !!!Well done Langham and I will be coming their soon.

Booked a weekend night through the hotel's website including breakfast and afternoon tea as well as late check out. The room was great, food delicious, staff excellent and the spa was delightful. My daughter and I had an excellent stay. Strongly recommended.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the BBC Centre and All Saints Church

The Langham Hotel is one of those old fashioned hotels where service is superb at every stage of your stay. The staff is courteous and attentive but not intrusive. From check-in to check-out they are determined to make your stay memorable. We stayed two nights in a Grand twin room to celebrate my wife’s birthday and to see “The Audience” at the Gielgud Theatre. It was a success!
The average room price was £286 per night including VAT. The room, on the 9th Floor was not as “Grand” as I had expected and was not as spacious as I had hoped for. However, it was well equipped and everything was clean and functioned as it should. Bearing in mind that the hotel is a relatively short walk from Oxford Circus and next to Bush House it was remarkably quiet.
The bathroom had that old-world feeling with a black marble wash basin and surround dark wood with contrasting cream tiling. Two bathrobes and slippers were available in the wardrobe and the towels were truly “bath size” and were thick and comfortable.
A 39 inch plasma TV on the wall opposite the bed provided excellent in-room entertainment with piped sound in the bathroom. Bed linen and towels were changed every day.
Breakfast was provided either as a buffet (£37 per head)in the Palm Court or as a la carte in the Roux at the Landau restaurant. The buffet breakfast was of average quality and was easily surpassed by breakfast at Die Swanne in Bruges. The stewed fruits were restricted to apricots and prunes; we could not find any yoghourt. The main course consisted of scrambled eggs (excellent quality!), sausages, bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms. Black pudding could be provided on special request. Coffee was provided in a thermos jug at the table but fresh tea was served.
The Langham is famous for afternoon tea served in the Palm Court. This is an experience that I would recommend. Two grades of meal are available, one at £40 per head and the Bijoux Service at £49 per head. The latter provides a luxury range of sandwiches, patisseries and scones accompanied by a tea of your choice (some at extra cost). The “sandwiches” were based on foie gras, smoked salmon, quail and so on. The scones served with chilled clotted cream and raspberry jam were superb. The patisseries were designed to resemble jewellery made by Fennell and were delicate concoctions of delight. Central to the occasion is the tea, which you can chose with the help of a “tea sommelier”. I can recommend the “Silk Road Blend” of silver Chinese tea. Our bill for afternoon tea was £122 for two people.
In conclusion I would say that a stay at the Langham is worthwhile if your pockets are deep. It is a taste of a more leisurely past now rapidly disappearing from the modern world.

Room Tip: The Grand rooms are excellent and the 9th floor was perfectly quiet.

We last visited this hotel some 5 years ago. It has changed hands and become part of an upmarket world wide chain. The afternoon tea in the Palm Court was an experience not to be missed. The dress code was such that you did nt feel out of place wearing a suit and tie amongst a lot of trendy young things. The food was well presented, unique in style and well worth the priceof £40 per head. The pianist played a good mixture of old and new andthe whole ambience was great. Due to the traffic in london on this day we arrived some 40 minutes late but the tablehad been kept andall the staff were very keen for us to settle in and enjoy the experience. On a table next to us the party had brought a cake with them and the waiters without any fuss arrange suitable fancy plates and an impromptu renedering of happy birthday

I have been coming to the Langham with my
Family for years, generally four or five times a year, and I feel compelled to congratulate all of the impeccably professional and friendly staff for making it a truly 5 star experience and a home from home. In particular Mansour who is always incredibly welcoming and is very much the genuine article. I often come with my 10 year old son and he always asks how he is whether he's there or not. Between myself, my partner and my father (who is another frequent user of the Hotel) Mansour and the staff make our stays at the the difference between a good one and a perfect stay...it's the reason we keep coming back. Well done and we look forward coming back to our home in London for many years to come.

Nice lobby...nice location...nice room...nice Palm Court but would have liked a dress code for Afternoon Tea -- short sleeve polo shirts and jeans with trainers were the norm and we were dressed properly.

Room Tip: Ask for a big room in their "club" level...

A once grand hotel is cavernous and cold. Room temperatures variable but generally too cold and drafty in public rooms. Service is very patchy. Have your breakfast in the Roux restaurant - the best service in the hotel and the same price as the Palm Court.
