Great intro to London, and to the historical links to the rest of the world. Learnt a lot from my hours in there - absorbing.

“Museum of London a great find”

I adored the Museum of London because it gave a geological and human overview of the past 400,000 years in London. Really fascinating timeline of exhibits from prehistoric to modern. Highly recommend.

“A London stroll through time”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 2, 2013

This museum is unusual in that it's laid out as a chronological progression from pre-history through contemporary times so as you move through it's like walking along a timeline. The comprehensive exhibits are contextual with plenty of interactive displays appropriate for all ages. Even though the museum is free I did pay the 5 pounds for the display book and read it while waiting for hubby to arrive. In his letter the Director says that the museum is not only about London but for Londoners and in a sometimes misdirected display they integrated local teens' interpretations of Roman life. This museum is one of those places that you could spend an hour or 6 hours depending on how much you wanted to delve into the various exhibits. Don't miss the display on The Plague, The Great Fire, the sufragette movement (which was shockingly violent), and the video with the voice overs of the WWII bombings. We had very good sandwiches and soup at the small restaurant too.

“Brain Food For Free”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 29, 2013 via mobile

This is the second time I have visited this marvellous museum and this time it was primarily to see the Doctors, Dissection & Resurrection Men exhibition. This special event was fairly pricy but well worth the entrance fee with some excellent displays and artifacts that would appeal to the most demanding of morbid curiosities and would be of particular interest to those, like me, who work in professions associated with the subject.

The rest of the museum is completely free and is, in my 'umble opinion, one of the most fascinating & interesting attractions in a city awash with history.

Biased? Maybe it's because I'm a Londoner.....

“..thoroughly enjoyed it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

My wife and I spent six hours here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Well laid out - informative - family friendly exhibits - good cafe - secure storage for bag and coats. I liked the exhibition of Roman London the best which was enhanced by the alternative comments and projects that young people had been invited to contribute. I also enjoyed the exhibition of 50+ award-winning photographs displayed outside the main entrance. We didn't have time to visit the temporary exhibition on anatomy and grave robbing so will return. We also plan to visit when the Cheapside Hoard is exhibited having seen a 'taster' of the jewels.
