“Poor organization”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

This museum come Art Gallery is not well placed for tourists, being off the main streets. They have a quite splendid collection of paintings, especially Canaletto's and Pousin's which is totally marred as they are arranged, higgledy-piggeldy, all over the place, defying any kind of logic, and without any meaningful chart to aid one in finding a particular painting.

Beautifully located in Marylebone and offering peaceful unhurried art -and for us, morning coffee or a very early glass of wine in lovely surroundings.

“All the clocks work!”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

We visited this on the recommendation of a friend and were not disappointed. Amazing to see so may different and interesting objects collected by several generations of the same family.

There are many clocks here and most of them are still working and show the correct time.

“A Lovely Place”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

Do yourself a favor if you love 18th century art and run to this museum. It is a delight. The house itself is more than lovely and the perfect setting for the Fragonard, Watteau and Boucher paintings which hang on its walls. jThe French furniture collection is outstanding and several European painting masterpieces by Titian, Rubens, Velasquez are breathtaking. Afternoon tea in the Wallace Restaurant is an added treat.

“Hidden Treasure”
Reviewed November 22, 2012

This collection is one of the best kept secrets in London. It has some special exhibits that in another city would be considered the star attractions. It is wonderful that the collection is still together and so accessible - only 2 mins from Oxford St.
