As a keen car enthusiast I visited the Cars Exhibition at the V&A and overall was quite pleased. I did think the £18 admission fee (£9.00 with a National Art Card) was quite high though given that much of the Museum is free.

The exhibition is well laid out with a number of interesting cars on display plus supporting exhibits such as advertising material, model cars and other memorabilia. Some of the exhibit labels were a bit difficult to read due to small print.

The exhibition shows the social impact of the motor car well and charted the changes in thinking that have occurred from speed and consumption to eco-friendliness and safety very well. Overall, well worth a visit.

With over 2 million objects in its collection, the V&A is the largest (and most would agree the best) museum of art and design in the world. You’ll want to allow several hours if you want to get the most from your visit -- and the V&A is well worth a visit.

Good to know: Admission is free although they request donations. Rightfully so.
Good to know: Not many interactive activities unlike some museums, so younger kids might lose interest.

You could spend an entire day here. World class museum with something for everyone. In addition, there are usually special exhibits. These you have to pay for, however, museum is free with just a request for donations.

The seating arrangement was rather muddled. Eventually relaxed and sat at the bar. Things got better. We enjoyed the lunch and glass wine

All round a great place to visit, considering it is free to visit, there is so much to see, it just goes on and on. We have now been several times and always find something new to see.
The cafe is OK, but very crowded
