The Natural History Museum and The Science Museum pull in the crowds, but this museum must be on your "visit" list. A lot of varied exhibits on display that will fascinate a lot of people and you have time to relish what you see whether it be precious stones, paintings, statues, costumes and much much more.

We love the museums all over the country, but, as our children are normally our weather vane, we had never been to the V&A before.

As we were just off on our own, we went along and spent the better part of the day there.

It's just lovely. I adored the theatre section, and am dying to return when the reconstruction of the arched courtyard is finished.

Even the cafe was special, and we gawped at the beautiful tiles in there whilst we drank our tea.

There are arts and crafts for the children in the basement at weekend and holidays.

I love the cafe whether you sit in the amazing centre room with the grand piano or out in the courtyard while your children fall into the pool when paddling (bring a change of clothes).

The fashion exhibits are just brilliant. The Jewellery room is amazing. I love the shop although it is expensive.

An absolutely fabulous photo exhibition - stimulating contemporary middle eastern photographers pushing the boundaries of conceptual art. Lovely, beautiful and alarming all at once.
