Since last time we visit this great museum the courtyard has been covered with a glass roof . Now you reach each floor directly from the stairs in this courtyard. Here you can go for hours and even days to see all the different exhibitions.

You need your energy to visit. It’s massive. Lots to see. Not brilliant for very young kids. Nice cafe on 3rd floor. Free but they like contributing to the cost.

We specifically went to see the exhibition curated by Ian Hislop called "I Object" to fill-in some time before meeting friends in the evening. Whilst it is not the best exhibition we have ever been to, it does contain some interesting pieces and anecdotes that would otherwise lay hidden in the archives of the museum.
It does put a different slant on events of history and in some instances waves a couple of fingers at the establishments of the day.

The British Museum obviously has excellent exhibits such as the Rosetta Stone, The Easter Island Statue and The Flood Tablet and the way the collections are placed by region of the world is a great way to track down specific interests.
We really enjoyed the museum staff who explained the use and background of some items that they allowed to you handle; very informative and fun.

Fantastic museum, you would need to spend a min of a day to fully appreciate it. Unfortunately we didn’t have that much time up our sleeve, maybe next time

The British Museum is really a must see when visiting London. So many different exhibitions in a beautiful building. It is like walking around the world and exploring it’s past.
Visit is free of charge. Best to arrive early to avoid crowds.

Greeted by the Rosetta Stone!
Extensive display of antiquities and artefacts taken from ancient lands and cared for here.
Good facilities and food outlets. Did some shopping as well!

I had a spare 90mins to visit and managed to cover most of the museum quickly. Free admission.
Amazing collection but also very telling of the British empire pillaging the world.
Great for opening the eyes of kids and understating about the wider world.
Overall well worth a visit.
