The museum is huge but there are some things you do not want to miss and the have a museum plan with the highlights to make a short visit. Great greek monuments, the Rosetta Stone, and mummys form Egypt are a must see.

No comments...sorry but I will never eat there again. Bad food, bad service, and very slow...and expensive for what you order

“A MUST see in London”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2013 via mobile

I cannot express my delight in touring this museum. If you are an American, it's sort of like touring one of the Smithsonions and/or the Met. They have a huge collection of Greek and Egypt antiquites, including about half of the Parthenon's interior saved from the Venetians attach on Athens in 1687 when the Ottoman Empire used the Parthenon for a gunpowder storage. It had been left for ruin until 1879 when Lord Elgin (UK) British Ambassador to the Ottomans asked permission to save what was left of it after the wars and vandalism. It has exhibits on the ancient Greeks, Romans, Africans, and Asians. Loved it so much that I'm going back tomorrow. Too much to see in one day. Be sure to take the free guided tours of certain exhibits during the day. Museum is mostly free. Headsets are £5. You can download the App but it only has 10 items on it. Better to get the guide. Lots of school children during the weekdays. Cafe has nice selection of food. Enjoyed it very much.

One of the great museums of the world - fantastic. Cafes not brilliant and expensive but the cafes are irrelevant.
