Owner description: ZSL London Zoo is packed full of wonder and amazement, with over 650 species of animals to meet and thousands more surprising and fascinating facts just waiting to be discovered. Find yourself face-to-face with our Asiatic lions and our friendly giraffes whilst they enjoy a spot of lunch. Wander through our Madagascan shrub forest and see how many of our ring-tailed lemurs you can spot before heading down to B.U.G.S to quiz our insect experts on the importance of insects to our ecosystem. Then, if you're feeling brave, you can get up close and personal and take a Spider Selfie with our resident arachnids in Europe’s only walk-through spider experience. Not to mention firm favourites Gorilla Kingdom, Penguin Beach and Tiger Territory. This is a place where fun days help us fund raise. Where your visit will help support our conservation work in over 50 countries around the world. Where really great days out can make a really positive difference to the wildlife we work to protect.

On a very cold day at Easter this is proably not the best time to visit the zoo as many of the warm blooded animals are still hiding away. The new tiger facility was brilliant, and the indorros exhibitions well worth spending time in - especially the monkeys in the Rainforest.

This zoo is awful, most of the enclosures are empty, the cafe is overpriced and tastes gross. Only go if you want to pay loads of money to see nothing. Rubbish.

It was the first nice day of the year (at long last), so we got up early, did the 1 1/2 hour drive to regents Park. Lots of parts of the zoo had changed since I last went there. The elephant house is closed and the penguins have been moved to a larger area. The snowdon Aviary is in quite a sad state of repair, and houses only Ibis, Kites, pigeon, peacocks, sparrow, and more sparrows! Some people were complaining about the price of a piece of cake from one of the kiosk vans (£3 a slice), and the prices in the "restaurant" (which is incidentally closed at the moment for repairs - so a marquee is opened for hot and cold foods) were also expensive. Entry to the zoo is now £25 per adult. Quite a dew of the exhibits were closed for improvement. The chidrens area was rather boreing, I expected rabits, guineapigs etc., but there was 1 goat. Some of the areas are fine for wheelchairs but a lot would be problematic. All in all, it was an enjoyable, but tireing day out.

Booked tickets online beforehand so we missed the queues to get in. There is a good 25 minute walk from whatever tube station you get off at which wasn’t a problem but longer than it says in their literature. A typical Zoo with some very good exhibits and some old and tired. The much advertised new tiger enclosure was a disappointment as I expected it to be larger than it was. Penguin beech was okay as you could see them swim underwater. We caught the otters being fed which was great. I know that they have only a certain amount of space and that the animals are well looked after and they do a lot of conservation work but I couldn’t help but being disappointed. Some of the exhibits were definitely sad looking. The food in the only restaurant that was open was a ridiculous price – I know I’m, not used to London prices but £3.25 for a small slice of cake did seem excessive. However all of the children who were there did seem to have a great time. Been to much better ones for a lot less.

The location is great and it is a decent zoo but nothing more than that. Way overpriced- I'd recommend visiting another zoo unless you have to be in central London.
