Owner description: Buckingham Palace serves as both the office and London residence of Her Majesty The Queen. It is one of the few working royal palaces remaining in the world today. During a visit to Buckingham Palace, visitors can see the nineteen magnificent State Rooms, which provide the setting for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining. All rooms are furnished with many of the greatest treasures from the Royal Collection. A visit also includes entry to the special exhibition, A Royal Welcome.

Such an amazing experience to actually see inside the Palace and the gardens. Extremely full due to the time of year and the Olympics but the staff were friendly and managed the masses extremely well. We loved visiting the Royal Mews, the guide was most informative and pleasant. The Palace tour was wonderful. Such a beautiful place. Had to have tea in the garden, the shop was great and then exiting through the garden was just the best. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

I visited the State Rooms during the summer opening, which also included the Queen's Diamonds' special viewing for the Diamond Jubilee year. You are loaned an audio set, to self-guide through the tour - it is very clear and easy to use, even to pause or hear extra information on some of the more important artworks or rooms. Each of the 22 rooms seemed to be more spectacular than the last. Some of the rooms and staircases are familiar from seeing royal functions held at the palace on tv. It's amazing to think that the rooms are actually used when the royals are in residence. About 2/3rds through, you entered a darkened room and saw the most spectacular diamond jewellery and tiaras in downlit glass cases. You were actually about 30cms away, only the glass between you are the most fabulous jewels, with photos of them being worn. After the palace rooms, you could have tea on the terrace, overlooking the gardens. Then on the way out along the garden on the Grosvenor Road side, there was a fantastic souvenir shop, which had wonderful products. If you have the opportunity to visit next summer, please don't hesitate - you will not regret an afternoon spent here!

I have always wanted to go,so dream come true.We purchased"A royal Day out" online before we went and I suggest you do this as the lines were long and some people could get in for that day.It included the States Room tour,The Gallery(Davinci was being shown tha month),the Stables were the horses are kept and Her Majesty's carriges. Fantastic day and they give you head phones, included with price,to tour around.Suggest get the tour book when you book tickets and it is avaliable for you when we picked up the tickets. If given enough advance, they may mail you the tickets. It was not problem picking them up.Gift shop expensive, but proceeds go to charity and I SHOPPED ALOT much to my husband's chagrin!

It was a great visit when we were in London!, We had the opportunity to enjoy the Royal Band performing in the garden and the advantage that the hotel was only three blocks away from it, so we left it the best for last!
An amazing view of one of the most famous and beatiful palaces in the world and a peak of the Queen in one oif her carriages entering on a side door! What a magnificent place to spend the morning !

I had a tour guide that took us round and he explained different sections and what certain painting were of. It had a great time and I ecspecially like the garden. It was MASSIVE! I was sitting near to the lake that was right across from when you come out of the back door and there was some lovely ducks situated in it. The garden I beleive was the best part. It felt like royalty.
