Tower of London is an amazing site to visit. We did the free guided tour with a Beefeater and highly recommend anybody who visits to do the same. Our Beefeater was very funny and knowledgeable

The London Tower tour, great on its own, but better with a Beefeater Guide. Our guide "Billy the Beefeater" was funny and knowledgeable, helped make this tour a highlight of our trip.

Another great piece of history and time well spent. This place is presented well and really gives insight to the ways of the royals and militias of different times. A true testimate to standing the test of time.

You can make the most of The Tower of London if you just do a bit of homework in advance.
The place is outstanding: the history, the legends, the architecture and of course the famous Crown Jewels with the biggest shiniest diamonds - but there’s more.
- find out when the free tours are and make sure you get in one. The stories they tell are worth your ticket alone. You will thank me for that.
Google and
- read a bit about the two beheaded queens and their stories
- read about Queen Mary
- read about the 2 princess in the Tower and how their bodies have been discovered recently due to modern technology
- don’t miss the little chapel and take time to read how all men have their own names but all women are only the daughter or the wife of someone
- make sure you allow plenty of time for your visit.
- have some questions for the Beefeaters. They are friendly and like to talk.
- it’s tiring and it’s a lot to take in but later you’ll want to remember more so perhaps take a few notes or even recordings (well, I’m a teacher so maybe I’m partial to that)

Went to see the Crown Jewels and did not have to queue. Exceeded our expectations and will go again. Also, went into the White Tower to see all the armoury and walked the 204 steps. Then the Beauchamp Tower and the graffiti.

Absolutely fantastic tour by the Yeoman and really brought to life the amazing history of the Tower. Plenty to see if you put aside an afternoon to do it all.

Went to see the flames being lit at the tower for Armistice Century event. The river & surrounding buildings look spectacular when it gets dark & as my wife & I normally only go to London a couple of times a year its a great reminder of why tourists from all over the world visit the UK. We like to visit Borough Market & walk along the Thames where the Christmas stalls are. We always have a lovely day out including an enjoyable meal in one of the many places to choose from.
