“Fantastic day of history”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Great attraction! There is so much history here - from the Normans to the modern day. I spent about six hours there and saw pretty much everything. If you have time I would recommend the yeoman tour - it's free and very informative. Don't be put off by the large crowds for the tour. Mine was huge but it was still very easy to hear everything said. The tour takes about an hour.

I would also recommend getting the audio guide. It is definitely worth the few extra pounds as it gives so much more detail than you can get from the displays alone.

The other thing I would say is dont be put off by the large queue for the Crown Jewels. They are worth the wait! Also the line moves faster than you would expect. It was way past the barriers when I queued up (about 12.45). I was in the building in about 20-25 minutes and all up it took just under an hour I'd say. Once you get inside the building there is still a queue but there is plenty of information about the monarchy and the jewels to keep you occupied.

“Engaging history”

A tour of the Tower brings England's past alive. Then guides are informative and entertaining. It's really spooky to follow the walk of those executed here.

“expensive but worth it”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Really enjoyed the visit, last time I went was 10 years ago. The Crown Jewels are truly stunning, there is much to see. As a history nerd I would recommend a little research before you go as there is so much to take in, but you can just go for a wander about as the architecture is lovely too. The café has a fantastic selection and if you're on a budget then a packed lunch is an option. The other facilities where spotless. The Yeoman where very helpful and the guide was very interesting. My 6 year old niece loved it maybe a return visit in another 10 years.

“Great Day and Location”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

The Tower of London is a fabulous place to visit. It's got great history and excellent staff around the park. The tour guides are funny and professional and is a great place for kids.

It's much better if you have nice weather. Tickets are better booked in advance for best timings and rates.

The best part is looking at all of the Crown Jewels and where all the ancient royals are buried and also where people were beheaded! Brilliant place to go and see.

Plenty of food places just outside of the Tower of London and plenty of tourist shops!

Excellent place, won't go back again it's a place where, if you've been once, you won't go again because there are too many other places to go.

“Worthseeing”
Reviewed June 24, 2013

Got to this site in morning . We started with beefeater tour ( tour starts every half hour). They are guards at tower of london , staying there protecting crown jewels. But in reality they all are tour guides & very effective tour guides. Our tour guide started with history of tower of london, prisoners & their execution. His commentary was very forceful. Took us all around . Long queue for Crown jewels, & hence preferred to skip it. Overall a worthseeing experience , near thames . Keep atleast 2 Hrs for this visit.
