“A disappointment”
Reviewed July 19, 2014

A big market but very little that makes you want to buy. The majority of stalls full of tat that charity shops would consign to the nearest dustbin. Time far better spent elsewhere.

“Brick lane”
Reviewed July 18, 2014 via mobile

Lots to do here - plenty of bars, places to eat and entertainment, always markets and street bars / street performers. Only downside = always busy

Great for markets full of unusual clothes

“Graffiti Art City”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

Brick Lane Graffiti looks much better now than it did many years ago, it use to be good graffiti but now the Artwork and Murals on the walls are FANTASTIC.

If in London and want to see skilled Artwork this is a must place to go. If you just want to see Artwork but do not fancy eating burgers, BBQ's or Indian food, something more GRAND in Liverpool street is only 10 mins away, on walking for the more luxury dining experience.

If your not a food fanatic just take a stroll down the side walks, you will raise your eyebrows a few times at somethink.

“Historical and Delicious”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

Strange using those two adjectives, but they describe Brick Lane very well. We initially went to Brick Lane for some Indian food (ended up eating Bangladeshi one night, Pakistani another) and discovered that there's a lot of history in this area. Veer off Brick Lane and explore the side streets -- they're really interesting and you can find indications of many of the different immigrant groups that lived here throughout the centuries. (I wish I had done more research in advance, because there's a ton of history here.) There's also a cool vintage market to explore. You almost can't go wrong choosing a restaurant -- they're not fancy, but they're really, really good. By the way, the nearest tube stop is Aldgate East -- just about a 1-block walk from the station to Brick Lane. We found it with no problem at all.
