Every stop is extremely clean and well marked. Download the "Embark LDN" app on smartphone and it will guide you through exactly where and when you need to be anywhere. The trains are on time, clean and safe. Amazing system. If you want WiFi underground you will need to purchase a Virgin Mobile $20 one month pass. I made do without it with no issues....
Overall - a high point of visiting London and getting around.

Make sure to get the Oyster Card to save lots of money. The tube is faster and easier to navigate than the bus. If you have kids, you can get an all day ticket for them for £3.50

This is our second visit to London and each time we have used the tube. It is a cost effective way to get around. All of the major attractions are close to tube stations so it is easy to plan your visit using the tube as your main mode of transport. Don't use the auto ticket machines. Line up for the assistance counter tell them what you want to achieve during your visit. They are very helpful. For instance we wanted to start our days early. Ie 8am. The assistant advised not leaving our accommodation till at least 930am to avoid the crowds. This worked well for traveling with an elderly person.

Londons tube system is the way to go. Oyster card to save you money, goes where you want within 10-15 minutes ( except for the delays sometimes....but the announcer gives you options) Loved it.

No need to worry about getting lost! We found the tube so easy to understand and navigate. My son advised us to get an Oyster Card and it was the best value for multiple travel for the 4 days we were there. The Oyster card allowed us many trips - make sure you swipe on the way out!- and we were able to turn it in on our last trip and got our deposit plus any unused monies back. Make sure you get a few tube maps to have in your pocket! The trains run every few minutes so there was never a long wait. The only time it was crowded was right after a show in the Covent Garden area. Just make sure you know the final stop of the train you wish to take, read the wall maps as you go in, then you have no worries! Much better than using taxis and a lot faster to get to your destination - no traffic jams to sit through!
