“A great venue to see a band but it's a bit rough around the edges”

The stage area and the sound and the general acoustics of this building is superb. As I say it is a great venue to hear a band but be warned if you wish to purchase a drink from the bar you might need very deep pockets, gold lined at that! I don't know about you but two shots of gin and a small bottle of tonic water cannot possibly warrant a charge of £9.90. How about a small glass of wine for five quid?
In my opinion the toilet facilities could have been somewhat fresher. Hot water in the basin to wash your hands would've been rather nice as well. So there,if you're going to go and see a band at the Apollo it is a great venue but go to one of the numerous local pubs first to buy a drink and use their facilities that would be my advice.

The Hammersmith Apollo is an iconic, and very good music venue:
- Average size capacity (wherever you are, it won't be bad, although you may feel a bit far if you are completely at the back of the balcony);
- Sound can be really good (depends who plays...);
- Nice staff, entrance without over-zealous security check, you feel treated well;
- Great events;
- So conveniently located, opposite the Hammersmith tube station.

I recently went to see the Pixies at the Hammersmith Apollo. The venue itself has a great old theatre look. I was in the standing section, where there was a decent amount of room and a sloped floor, meaning you didn't have to peer through a sea of heads. The price for drinks was a little steep, but this is to be expected.

Came here on December 1st to watch J.Cole in concert. I was impressed with the venue, reception was nice and spacious, some might even say grand! The standing worked very well with the sloped floors so that could everyone could see the stage. J.Cole was awesome to watch, the gap between the preceding performer and him was too long which got the crowd agitated, myself included. The only criticism of an otherwise awesome concert at a very recommendable venue.

If you weren't at the front concerts there are rubbish. The sound wasn't very good. Thankfully the group were so loved it didn't bother people that much. Over the top lighting. Most staff were nice but a few were so miserable. It was an interesting experience , however was not worth the price.
But atmosphere was great, outside staff were great, think it needed more merchandise though. Again the sound system needs work.
But I would love to return to watch the comedy show and if I was to go watch another concert I wouldn't bother unless it was at the front.
