We had extra leisure time this visit and looked for something different to do. We took the !0:30 AM trip all the way to Hampton Palace from Westminster Pier. It was a long trip of almost four hours. We sat at the front of boat in plastic chairs. There was simple narration of some of the sites that we were seeing. Remember, this is a boat trip and not a tour. The cost for two senior tickets one way was about $31.
The weather was lovely, but my hat came in quite handy. I noticed that some people had brought a picnic and that truly made their trip enjoyable. We made due with power bars and water. Food is available inside the boat.
This is a way to really slow down. We went through at least two locks. People waved from the river banks. Just be aware of the time constraints. To view the Palace required us to return to Victoria Station by train (about one hour).
