Travelodge London Waterloo Hotel

Myself and a friend choose this hotel as it is close to The Old Vic where we were going to see an evening performance ( The Crucible - it was excellent BTW!) The hotel was very clean and all you need for a quick stop over in London. My only complaint is that the room was very hot ( it wasn't a particularly hot day) and despite having 2 fans on all night didn't cool down very much. They need to get air con fitted. Breakfast was ok - no compliants - its what you expect in a chain like this. I would go again if I was visiting London. You know what you are getting - its basic and clean and very handy for the sites of London.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 8th floor at the back of the hotel - it was very quiet for Central London!

We stayed Thursday to Sat in Aug '14. Just a short stroll from Waterloo station. The room bathroom, and shower were spotless clean, and certainly not cramped or small. the bed was crisp and clean and very comfortable. No night time noise or disturbance. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we would definitely stay again. Worst point was the heat in the rooms, but a fan was provided without asking. Perfect as a base for sightseeing and would def go back.

Stayed here last night and having had some unpleasant stays previously with this chain, was very pleasantly surprised. The hotel has been refurbished and I could find no fault. Clean, contemporary and fresh. The staff were all marvellous and I will definitely return when next in London.

The hotel was located close to the Waterloo station. When we checked in, the staff was very unfriendly. We wanted to leave our lugage because the room was only available at 13 o clock and this was impossible!!! We had to pay 20£ for an early access to our room so we could leave our luggage!! The room was on the highest level and was very hot. We were lucky to have a fan in the room so we could cool it down. The room was clean and the bed was really soft. Did not expected this. On our last day we had to carry our luggage with us as we couldn't leave this in the hotel... Never had this before. This is why we will not go to any travelodge again!

We stay here for the cricket for every test at the oval. The place never changes.

The place is always so hot in the corridors! Why not change the lights to LEDs?

Lifts are small and there only two which hold eight people only which can make it busy at times

Bar is small and limited choice but adequate

No aircon in the room which is a big negative in summer but they do supply fans.

Shower is warm and powerful

The biggest let down is the breakfast...bun fight at the ok coral! Just no organisation with people attacking the food from all sides.

We will stay again as it suits our needs but not the best Travelodge

Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel, and will stay there again. The location is very good - deceptively central, especially for bus routes and waterloo station. Great selection of places to eat around The Cut, and theatres of course.

The room was 'compact' but fine for one night (I mean, who spends time in the hotel when there's all of London to go at!). Very clean, modern and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet and very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor in the corridor behind the restaurant.

Stayed for two nights while taking part in the RideLondon cycle event, so the location was great for that purpose. Our room was absolutely tiny and boiling hot - it absolutely stank of sweat when we walked in but we were told that there were no other rooms available (even though we had checked in early - surely there were empty rooms still?). There was a fan in the room and this helped a bit. We were on the ground floor, which was really handy for the bar/reception, but unfortunately there was music coming from a nearby venue until 5am although it was more of a murmur than annoyingly loud.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff - soooo friendly and helpful (other than the man who wouldn't swap our room). Breakfast was a bit disappointing - plenty of choice of cereal/fruit etc, but only bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, grilled toms and baked beans to choose from for a fry up! When you're paying over £7 for a breakfast, I'd expect a mushroom or two, hash browns and some black pudding's always nice!

Room Tip: Ground floor is probably cooler!
