“Travelodge Waterloo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2013

Perfect budget hotel, clean tidy everything you need when having a cheap night away. Only complaint was a wall socket hanging of the wall where the kettle it. My thinking is if the room had been checked this should of been picked up on. When I went to reception they moved to another room which was fine however it was smaller and had a very small window which made it feel smaller. So personally I would have liked to of been in the bigger room. But overall everything was fine

I stayed here for 6 nights with my 2 daughters, in room 810, which had a huge window and I could just see the London Eye between 2 buildings-one that was just been built now...This travelodge building is new, we had a big room, comfortable beds, 2 big pillows each, clean towels (after 2 days of asking they finally figured out that we actually needed a towel each and gave us 3 bath/hand towels daily) The cleaning staff during our stay were excellent, they'd magically prepare our room during the day and it'd be ready nice and clean-beds made, when we'd get back dead tired and exhausted every afternoon. And all the coffee/tea you could want!
The water pressure in the bathroom was jet powered and really strong, the 2 in 1 bath/shower tap took a while to muster though.
As with all travelodges, there was no closet/clothing space, no fridge which would have been nice as it was really really hot during our stay- which brings me to another negative- no air-conditioning! We had a fan in our room, which we didn't turn off once when we were in the room, but as we were 3, only the one fan wasn't enough so I asked for another, which I got after going down about 5 times to ask for one over a 2 day period! (The first guy-a shaggy tired looking fellow said he'd bring it up when he got a chance- we waited till 11pm & no fan; went down next morning, there was another guy said he'd take it right up himself, we got back at 4pm- still no fan! Had to go down once again and finally asked to take it up myself and finally was given one- full of dust, I might add-so I opened it up and cleaned it myself) Needless to say, it got a lot more comfortable up there with the 2 fans) And this brings me to another thing- no phones in the room!
The hotel's location is straight down Waterloo road, about 10minutes from the train station- make sure you get out the right way as this particular station is very very big, I made it a point of looking for Sainsbury's across the street as soon as we'd leave the exit- if I couldn't see it, then we were in the wrong exit! There is also a smaller supermarket downstairs from Travelodge, which I didn't try, and a Tesco's at the Elephant & Castle station- which is about 15 minutes down the other way of Waterloo rd, from travelodge.
The other small negative was that my single bed looked the other way from the TV, so it wasn't very comfortable watching anything. The channels were good- a wide range to choose from, although my daughters were always watching the music channels or american series.
It is a bit of a treck into the city, as this is we're you'll be heading every day, but I don't think you could do much better than this hotel for the price you pay.
All in all, at 37pounds per night in the south of one of the largest cities in the world for a triple room is amazing, and I would like to thank travelodge for making it possible for us to come to the UK, travel around for 18days and visit so many towns so easily when on a budget...

We stayed at this hotel for one night during a hot summer.

The room itself is ok for a low cost hotel. The quality of the bed is really great but it is not enough to make up for the lake of fridge and air conditioning. Although we had a (small) fan in the room it was far from being enough to cool the (small) room.
There is no safe and no shampoo/soap either.

The breakfast is fine. You have a lot to chose from although the quality is not the greatest. Croissant / bacon especially were quite disappointing.

Location is good, only 5 minutes walk from Waterloo station.

Overall this must be a good place to stay (for the price) if the temperature is not too high. if you are sensible to heat, look for another hotel.

Room Tip: Don't go during summer if you can't stand hot rooms at night.

Dear Mosespa, we are glad to hear that your overall stay was satisfactory but we’re really sorry that certain aspects of your stay were not as you would have liked. As standard we do not provide toiletries in any of our hotels although we do offer the option to purchase extra toiletries from our vending machines. Unfortunately not all of our hotels have air conditioning so we do have a number of fans available from reception. Your valued feedback regarding our bar cafe will be shared with the hotel which will allow them to make improvements.

Nice good stay. Had to ask for extra towels though as only got one although there were two of us. Had to ask for tea too. Bed broke as I say down, and I'm not big by any stretch of the imagination, however, staff sort it out quickly and without a fuss. so all in all good stay

overall this hotel was value for money, as everywhere in London very central for tube, just up the road from the Eye and South Bank. Plenty of surrounding pubs/bars and restaurants with Old Vic just up the road - downsides were no air conditioning, lack of bar staff on bar which was promoted as available 24/7 and a continued request for sufficient towels

Stayed here at the weekend. Temperature outside around 28 the temperature in my room was double that. Unbearable heat. Staff can't install air con but this is a new Travelodge hotel and should have been installed at the time of the build. This is penny pinching in the extreme. Room was clean although the water pressure was poor. I would stay again but only in the winter.

Close to waterloo metro - can be in the Leicester square in minutes.

Clean and well accommodating staff.

Rooms are a little small - but has everything you would expect for a comfortable budget accommodating.

There is also a nice pub, just outside the metro-station that does excellent food.
