“Right for early Eurostar”

My friend had stayed before. Found it easily. Quiet. Basic. Good beds and en-suite. Quiet at early breakfast. Perfectly adequate for what we needed and good value. But it worked out expensive for one person booking at short notice. 10 minutes walk from Kings Cross St pancras.

I have stayed at this hotel four times and will shortly be back for a fifth visit. The rooms are small ( cosy ), there is no lift and it has none of the facilities of a corporate hotel such as a restaurant, bar or mini-bar. For those who seek such things, the Judd is not for you. However, it is comfortable, the rooms are spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful, particularly on reception. There are nice touches such as free Wi-Fi and baggage storage. Breakfast is efficient and pretty decent - and I have never had to queue. The hotel scores most on location. It is very close to Euston and St Pancras railway stations and a few minutes from the tube and major bus routes. The immediate area is a delight - Georgian garden squares given over to academic and other institutions and there is an abundance of local stores for provisions, cafes, inexpensive restaurants, good pubs and bookshops. The hotel is quiet situated in a Georgian crescent overlooking gardens. It is not cheap but the prices are average for the area.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front on the second and third floors are the quietest, though the third floor is a bit...

We've stayed here before and we've been delighted in the past by the friendly staff, excellent service and fine breakfasts. What a shame! Now the Judd has taken over the hotel opposite and has all guests fighting for access to breakfast and reception facilities. Our room was not ready on arrival as the cleaning staff are working across both sites. We tried on two occasions to find a way to get the breakfast we'd paid for with no success. Queues of up to 20 people just to get a set in an overcrowded room. The reception was dealing with this excess of guests meaning that a queue was always in evidence when handing in or picking up keys. The reception was awash with luggage from both hotels, constituting a clear security risk for anyone foolish enough to leave their possessions there. The staff always had to ask which hotel you were staying in. So much for the personal touch. We won't be back!

Thank you ‘Martin C’ for your review. I am saddened to read that you didn’t enjoy your stay this time at the Judd Hotel. We took over the Jenkins Hotel and one year ago and closed it for a full renovation. As the Jenkins Hotel is next door to the Judd Hotel the owners decided serve breakfast in the Judd dining room. In order to facilitate this we have extended the old dining room and increase the amount of covers.
Check in time is 2pm and the majority of rooms are ready at this time. It is unfortunate however that your room wasn’t ready when you arrived. We have increased the number of Housekeeping staff to clean the Jenkins Hotel so the Judd Hotel staff are not working across both sites.
We have always allowed guests to leave their bags in the reception at Judd Hotel free of charge and at times it does get congested. We are currently looking into alternative storage areas for the guest bags and hope to have a solution for it very soon.

The hotel is conveniently located for the tube, and is on a beautiful quiet street. Our room was extremely small, but clean with a modern, again very small, bathroom. The breakfast was average, and the room where it was served was far too small for the number of guests. On the whole, I was fairly happy with the stay, but got a good price, probably not worth the full prices of well over £100 per room

i stayed at this hotel for two nights in July.we had booked triple room for three adults.after check in we were surprised to note that there were no lifts.we had to carry our bags all the way to 2nd floor.on entering it was like the room ended where it started.absolutely no space to walk leave alone open our bags.the third bed was a sofa converted to bed.it was tiny and i could not stretch on it and i am not too tall.the beds were so narrow that only a single person can sleep and not enough space to turn, besides the bed had wheels which made it very uncomfortable.
we went for breakfast next morning.it was ok nothing great.we asked the lady who was serving for tea so she left a tea pot and a small milk pot.after sometime another family sat at the table next to us.they asked for tea and this lady brought a pot of tea but no milk.when the men asked for milk she simple picked up our milk pot and gave it to them.there was no asking us if she can give it,we all were amused at this.
anyway i would not recommend this hotel.there are far better hotels in this area and at much less rate.
all in all a bad experience.

The hotel has a great location, it was clean, the bathrooms are modern and breakfast was okay. However, it shouldn't be allowed to call itself hotel, rather it should be classified as a guesthouse or hostel as the size of the room is absolutely ridiculous. I have stayed in youth hostels before that offered more space! There is no space to store any luggage and you keep bumping into the walls or each other, that's how small the rooms are. If one of us wanted to open their suitcase, the other one had to sit on the bed or disappear in the bathroom as there was not enough space. Slamming doors could be heard throughout the whole building frequently. Considering these circumstances, the rates they charge are way too high, even for London.

No excuse for shabby finishes: frayed carpets scuffed walls.

Dining area was a daily battle ground. Insufficient seating and poor guest management: the waiting staff didn't care. (One was hard working but the other was a liability)
