We stayed three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Spotless room, comfortable bed and lovely bath. Although it wasn't en-suite, as we had expected, we were the only ones using it, plus, Sian let us use the empty room next to us for our luggage. It was great to have the extra space! Thanks Sian!
She also gave us excellent suggestions for restaurants and we ended up having a fabulous Indian dinner at a place she recommended that was a short walk from the B & B. The tube station is a minute from the front door, so it was easy to get anywhere. The nearby bus got us to directly to Royal Albert Hall-thanks again Sian for that suggestion. In the past, we'd always stayed near the British Museum, but we enjoyed being in a more residential neighborhood-especially one providing great public transportation and some excellent neighborhood dining.

Room Tip: we were up two flights of stairs and had a good deal of luggage. If you can't easily climb steep...

We stayed at the Kennington after a cruise from which we departed in Dover. We took the fast train from Dover to St. Pancras and then took the Northern Line right to Kennington Station where the Kennington B&B is just a few steps away. We had our grandson with us so it was great for him to have his own room with his own TV. We all loved the breakfast each morning and enjoyed meeting Sian. It was like having our own apartment in London. There were excellent restaurants within walking distance and we also enjoyed meeting the other guests who were quite cordial. The free international calling was a really nice feature and there was also an ipad in the breakfast area which we could use to look things up. Personally, I don't like to be downtown in the crowds so the location was just perfect for us after a day of touring London.

Room Tip: The Ground floor rooms were connected by a door which is a nice feature if you have children with yo...

My wife and I just got back from a month-long trip to the UK and we spent our first three and the last two nights of our trip at the Kennington B&B. We were quite pleased with our experience there, and would recommend it highly to other London visitors looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay.

Both the owner and the helper are friendly, outgoing, and dedicated to serving the guests needs and desires, which they accomplish efficiently, effectively, and with a smile. Communication via email during the investigation and making arrangements phase went very smoothly. The B&B was able to make arrangements for a late evening arrival without any problem. The room we stayed in was clean, definitely adequately sized, and well appointed. Both the bathroom and the room had thermostatically controlled radiators that we could adjust as needed. The heat in the building remains on all night (which we learned during our stay in the UK is not the case everywhere!).

To someone who does not know London, the location south of the Thames may seem a bit out of the way. However, the Kennington Tube stop is less than a five minute walk from the B&B. The stop is on the Northern Line, which provides frequent service (we never had to wait more than five minutes for a train) from early in the morning until late at night. Except when heading to distance sites such as the Kew Gardens, even with the change of lines it pretty much took us no more than 15 to 20 minutes door-to-door to get wherever we wanted to go.

When we first investigated the Kennington B&B, we considered the lack of a hot breakfast as a bit of a disadvantage. However, the reviews on TripAdvisor suggested that the cold breakfast would be quite extensive (in other words, nothing like what is called a "continental breakfast" by many hotels/motels in the US). We were not disappointed in any way by the breakfasts. The choices of pastries is very extensive and caters to every taste from the unhealthy but sweet and good to more healthful fare. There is a good selection of cheeses and meats, as well as cereals, fruit, yogurt, selection of spreads, etc. The variety and quantity of breakfast offerings is far greater than any one person could possibly take advantage of. The coffee is made in individual French presses, and the tea is pot-brewed.

One of us is gluten intolerant, and as we let the B&B know about this in advance, they were quite accommodating and purchased a selection of gluten-free items for us.

While the rooms do not have facilities in them for making coffee/tea/hot chocolate, etc., the breakfast room and kitchen downstairs are available to the guests at all hours. The kitchen is well-stocked for off hour drinks, and unlike some B&B's, Kennington has no problem with people bringing in food from outside the B&B if it is eaten in the downstairs breakfast area.

Given the general high prices of pretty much everything in London, we considered the Kennington B&B a good value for the amount paid, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again on future London trips.

Room Tip: We stayed both times in a room overlooking the garden. The street on which the B&B is located ca...

A B&B that has everything, its clean and comfortable, Large spacious bedroom high standard bed and linen, an excellent selection for breakfast with more than you can eat. Sian also welcome our son to enjoy a breakfast with us. Thanks Sian. Tea and coffee available at anytime. Pleasant outdoor garden to sit and enjoy the sun. Friendly and very helpful with when, where and what to do when in London. Convenient to transport links. Our weekend was stress free. We will be back to stay again and is well recommended to others. We stayed for 5 nights (2 adults, 2 kids aged 9 & 12). We had interconnecting rooms 3 & 4. It was a great start to visiting London. The location was great being only a 2 minute walk from the underground station. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. We had our own private bathroom down the hall. Buffet breakfast was very good, and the kids loved the hot chocolate that was made for them every morning. Sian was very helpful and gave us tips on restaurants, sightseeing etc. Would definitely stay here again.

This great place really lived up to the previous excellent reviews. Lovely room and bathroom, all spotless, great breakfasts, so much variety - and thanks to Inga for my perfect coffee every morning. Tea and coffee and biscuits available all day. Our hostess, Sian, was a mine of information and so helpful. You can even make free local and overseas phone calls on the land line. How good is that!!
The underground is only 2 minutes away and it only takes about 10 min into centralLondon - so easy. Also lots of buses. There are lots of pubs and restaurants around and the Oval cricket ground is close by. This is the perfect place to stay and I have no hesitation in recommending Kennington B & B to all. Thanks Sian for making our stay in London so great!!
