Description: Renowned throughout London and beyond, Petrus is one of the biggest names on the restaurant scene. With the world-renowned Gordon Ramsay behind the scheme to raise Petrus - now located on Knightsbridge's Kinnerton Street - from the ashes, the restaurant exudes the famous Ramsay sense of luxury combined with down-to-earth charm. Decorated in subtle tones of champagne, oyster and copper along with the claret red which inspired the restaurant's name, Petrus's beguiling interior is superbly decadent and romantic and actually quite intimate. In the kitchen, Head Chef Larry Jayasekara is creating its trademark modern French menu. At Petrus the highest-quality ingredients go into dishes that combine delicious familiar flavours with unique presentation. Expect waves of divine amuse-bouches and a stupendous wine list, including a long list of vintages of Petrus to make it all perfect.

From the moment we walked into Petrus, we were made to feel so welcome. Compliments to the outstanding staff, the Head Chef and hi staff and all who made our Petrus experience so memorable. The food was sublime and attention to detail incredible. What a special way to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We certainly had an evening to remember. The food was largely good (although the surcharge for the lobster was expensive and easily the worst course of the day... odd combination) but there was far too much of it and it was not very well thought out. It was my birthday and they gave me a complimentary dessert.. but only after I'd already bought and finished the dessert I'd ordered, making the gesture more of annoyance as I was already full! The waitress was lovely and gave a tour of the kitchen as it was a special occasion but it then seemed like a hard-sell on the chef's table and I noticed that everyone was offered this regardless of whether it was a special occasion or not which somewhat devalued the experience. I would not return for the dinner menu as I felt it was overpriced although it was overall a nice experience. I would rate it 3.5/5 - nice but didn't live up to my expectations from the #1 rated restaurant in London as I have had much better food elsewhere and for less money.

We visited Petrus last Saturday for lunch and are still dreaming!! The food is without doubt magnificent, the service impeccable and you are certainly made to feel special. We had the lunch menu, with wine and champagne. However we didn't expect all the 'extras' that just appeared and the gastronomic delight went from one thing to another.
At the conclusion to the meal we were invited to meet the Head Chef and discuss our meal. (That's confidence !!) That in itself is an experience worth having.
Overall this place is faultless and the only true advice I can give is to try it, you will not be disappointed. I won't go on about cost - you get what you pay for and you don't go to a place like this and expect to pay pub prices.

We went to this fine restaurant to cellebrate our wedding anniversary. We got three dish option and they were really good. Well presented and very good foie. However, the sirloin was overcooked and too saucy. This might be caused by my mediterranean sense of food, and it could be delicious for locals.
