Description: Renowned throughout London and beyond, Petrus is one of the biggest names on the restaurant scene. With the world-renowned Gordon Ramsay behind the scheme to raise Petrus - now located on Knightsbridge's Kinnerton Street - from the ashes, the restaurant exudes the famous Ramsay sense of luxury combined with down-to-earth charm. Decorated in subtle tones of champagne, oyster and copper along with the claret red which inspired the restaurant's name, Petrus's beguiling interior is superbly decadent and romantic and actually quite intimate. In the kitchen, Head Chef Larry Jayasekara is creating its trademark modern French menu. At Petrus the highest-quality ingredients go into dishes that combine delicious familiar flavours with unique presentation. Expect waves of divine amuse-bouches and a stupendous wine list, including a long list of vintages of Petrus to make it all perfect.

We have eaten at many restaurants in London like this and it lived up to our expectations. The decor and ambience is very relaxing and comfortable. The staff here make you very welcome. We opted for the three course menu and the food was just delicious. It was difficult to choose what to order, the wine and champagne were very good. The knowledge of the staff was so good they really helped us with our choices.

We can't wait to return. If you get the chance you must go.

We visited on Friday 12th October. This was our third visit and as usual the food was simply wonderful. It's hard to improve on the overall experience, but the restaurant's managed to (or at least equal it) yet again. If you haven't visited, do so now!

Can only echo the sentiments of others. The service was excellent - friendly, not pretentious. We enjoyed the Chef's 5 course menu for dinner and found the pace of the night to our liking. We lingered until the restaurant closed and they did not rush us out. The food was top-notched. Would love to dine here again.

My friend and I had been saving up for four years to take a trip to London to experience food and service that we can normally only dream about. There are many great restaurants in London but I can't imagine that the combination of fabulous food and excellent staff could have been bettered. From the second we stepped through the door, nothing was too much trouble. The waiters were attentive but not intrusive throughout and Nicholas took us to see the kitchen downstairs - he was informative and at no time were we made to feel like we were a hindrance to the kitchen operation, which was in full swing. I would not hesitate to recommend Petrus to anyone celebrating a special occasion. The total cost for two of us was approaching £250 (we were drinking wine from the bottom end of the list or it would have been more..possibly much more!) but it was well worth it!
