“Really nice place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2014

As the title says I find this place really nice. I went there last friday evening for some drinks and I liked the place, it is so cosy and relaxed as everyone is sitting around the bar.
Definetely I will be back to try some food from the menu,
Prices are reasonable for Shoreditch (Around 9 pounds per cocktail and 5 pounds per Mexican beer)

“Decent food, but awful waitress!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2014

Our visit got off to a good start - I had a suitcase and the guy behind the bar kindly put it aside for me so it wasn't in my way. But unfortunately we weren't served by him! Instead, the blonde waitress served us and she was definitely one of the rudest people I've ever encountered.

There are only a couple of veggie options and one of my friends asked if they'd do it without meat, the answer was just "no" - no explanation, no apology, she just told us that they could get the salad!

We waited a while for the corn on the cob to arrive (it was really good when it did), but we were too scared to ask where it was, because she was so unfriendly!

The chilaquiles were quite authentic and the Flautas de Barbacoa were really tasty, but given the service we had, I'd definitely go elsewhere rather than back there again!

“Average food - poor, unfriendly service.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 28, 2014

We booked on a Saturday night for 4 people knowing we had the table for 1hr 30 minutes, this is pretty standard in busy areas of London for a Saturday night. However, the waitress as soon as we arrived was pretty rude, seemed completley unitinerested at or arrival and left. It then took an age for her to come back for drinks orders and then another age to take our food orders, whilst doing that she shrugged her shoulders and tapped her watch as we were ordering food, and seemed un-interested in explaining what a particular dish was.
Our food then took an age to arrive, close to 30 minutes, which left us 25 minutes to eat our starters and main. The plates for the main were scooped up as soon as the fork touched the plate, in spite of our friends still eating. The bill was delivered after the first plate was taken away.

The food was pretty average, having been to Mexico the quality in comparison was OK for a UK imitation, but it is overpriced for what is essentially, very average, simple food.

Atmosphere is good and the place has potential but there are plenty of other options around the area for a better price and bmuch better service.

“Appaulling service and food.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 17, 2014

Just been here tonight and am appauld by the quality of the food and the service. Really expensive for very average food. Half the starters were missed and the mains looked like something microwaved from the freezer. Atmosphere very disappointing and service absoulutely rubbish. Will never go here again.

“Quickest £100 spent in a restaurant!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 12, 2014

OK, lets level here. The food quality is reasonably good, not outstanding though. The cocktails (Mexican Mojito) were great and the atmosphere is nice. But there are several drawbacks, the main one is they ration you to 1.5 hours max for your table, which we were told as soon as we walked in, which in all honesty nearly made us walk straight out again as we thought we would be pushed to enjoy a meal in that time, didn't want the hassle and thought it quite cheeky. However we were completely wrong; they managed to serve us a 2 course meal so we were finished in 45 minutes. How do they do this? The food is served exceptionally quickly (too quickly). Mains arrived literally as we had finished our starters. The portions are small so frankly none of it takes long to eat. Its fast food really, but none of it is cheap. The small portions are not reflected in the price. The wine list is pretty expensive for what it is.

So £100 spent in 45 minutes in a restaurant was quite a record for us. Its a shame as it has potential to be good, but I think currently its a bit of a rip off.
