“Good hotel within walking distance of Waterloo Station”
Reviewed March 11, 2013

Very well situated in SE london. Modern hotel, very clean. The staff were very friendly and I was offered a complimentary glass of Cava or Sparkling Rose on my arrival, which was a nice gesture. The bed was very comfortable and the room quite spacious and quite adequate. If you take a walk around the area you can discover some lovely restaurants tucked away. There was also a small food market near Waterloo station (about 5 minutes away). They were cooking and selling all types of hot food (Indian, Thai etc.,) It smelt delicious. It was all being freshly cooked for you.

The H10 is about 20 minutes walk from the south bank, 15 minutes from Waterloo station and 10 minutes from the old Vic theatre. Though the immediate area next to the hotel is not that interesting.

The hotel is ok, clean and the beds comfortable. Just it's a bit sole less. Really not much atmosphere or friendliness. Ok, but plastic. I know it's not a tangible comment.

The chain is Spanish owned and several staff did not have such great English. Service was ok. But could be just a bit more friendly and efficient. Eg, explaining that I wanted to take my bag from the store room, pack some shopping and put it back seemed difficult. Also difficult to find my bag.

Other minor things , quite quickly fixed. Wifi signal weak, iPhone docking port on clock did not work. No umbrella in wardrobe. Nobody at health spa on a cold Sunday afternoon, drinks expensive. Eg more than £4 for a half of draft beer. All of this for around £130 per night.

The bathroom toiletries were good, towels also, very clean and good selection of tv channels and good free wifi.

So I would give, 3.5 if possible. But if to go one way, then 3.

Would I stay again?

Maybe. But I would first look for others , eg a good premier in or travel lodge at sub £100 price would be ok since the room comfort and atmosphere is comparable. Or would pay a bit more and go up market for something with a difference.

This was the second time that we have stayed in this hotel. Hassle free check-in and check-out, on our early arrival and day of departure there was no problem storing our bags until we returned. Nice bar and public area with 3 computers which are free to use, no printer so you have to send an email of what's to be printed to reception and they will print it off for you. The rooms are very pleasant and bright due to the floor to ceiling windows, the beds are so comfortable. It would be nice to see bathrobes in the standard double rooms, but that's only a minor criticism, cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel in general can't be faulted. Did not use the dining room for an evening meal so can't comment, but menu looked good. Breakfast is fantastic with an unbelievable choice and is the main reason that we chose to return to this hotel. The hotel sit's between two tube stations Waterloo and Lambeth North both of which are about a 5 minute walk so it's real easy to get about. Although we would prefer to be slightly more central we would not hesitate to return to the H10 it's worth it for the breakfast alone.

We stayed here a few months back due to the fact it was a late arranged trip to see Lady GaGa and our usual hotels were booked up. I was abit skeptic at first as ive never heard of the hotel in Waterloo. It was really abit of a hard to find hotel with alot of walking from waterloo station. People seem to be saying 5 mins but unless you walk 20mph i would say its a good 15min walk if not longer.
The hotel itself is a really well kept clean hotel. Check in and check out was a quick 3 mins job.
The room we stayed in was incredibly clean and new with some pretty cool artsy decorations around the room. It wasnt the most spacey room but was enough for a one day visit. The room came with you usual coffee, kettle, iron etc and a incredibly comfy bed!

If the hotel was in a better location or just a little closer to the station it would be a serious rival for premier inn but sadly the location just lets it down.

For the £125 paid, this hotel is good value for its location reasonably close to central London.

Check in and check out were hassle free, with good service and no queues. The hotel has a modern European feel (unsurprising as its a Spanish chain), with a very pleasant bar and public areas.

The breakfast is really excellent - again it has a few European and Spanish options in addition to all the usual fare of fruit, cereal and cooked breakfast.

The room is pleasant enough and spacious - decorated in a an ultra-modern style. A minor criticism would be that the furnishing and flooring feel a bit cheap and slightly hard - its not cosy and perhaps a little unwelcoming.

The restaurant offers Spanish fare - I would really have liked to have eaten there, were it not for the price, which seemed high for both the tapas and main dishes - outside the allowance that my employer is willing to fund. I ended up going to Marie's Cafe on Lower Marsh (great Thai food).

Overall though, its good, I'd stay again, and its certainly a cut above the Travelodge just down the road.

This is a good hotel in a good location, about 7 minutes walk to Waterloo station, and with buses outside the door. It is clean and well kept with friendly and efficient staff. But it misses on some minor points of detail, each of which is minor but in total they add up.

It took me three attempts to get a laundry bag and list for the room (not there on my arrival), a globe needed replacing in the bathroom and the USB point they provide did not work throughout my stay. The bath incorporates the shower and us quite deep, meaning that grab rails should be provided to help ingress and egress. And a slow emptying sink should surely have been noticed by housekeeping. To their credit, the towels were marvelous and, unlike many hotels, soap supplies were renewed when needed. The small tissue pack is "cute" but of limited use compared to a full sized box.

There is occasionally considerable street noise, particularly for rooms overlooking Waterloo Road, due to bus traffic but mainly ambulances from their depot in Waterloo road.

Food in the restaurant and bars was good and the staff friendly, but some day to day variety in the buffet breakfast offering (reasonably priced by today's standards) would be nice.

Room Tip: Try for a room away from Waterloo Road
