“Nice and comforteable for business”
Reviewed August 1, 2011

This is the typical big hotel for business. Great facilities for conventions, all meeting rooms of all sizes. Very new and comforteable, rooms are clean, but perhaps a little small. Service is very good, allways on time.
Gym is a perhaps short of some apparels, but good enough for a city hotel.
There is also a pool and a spa, absolutely standard.
The best with this hotel is the fantastic views of the Big Ben, not to miss in the early morning while having breakfast at the lounge.

This is a fancy hotel to look at and the location fantastic - of that there's no doubt. My 12th floor room was spacious enough and bed comfortable though pillows far too soft for my liking. Bathroom impressively designed.
However, at these kind of prices you should expect something a little special when it comes to customer service and here the hotel fails badly. Check-in took frustratingly long and after all that the, what should have been a relatively straight forward matter, left unresolved due to what can only be put down to poor communication between staff.
Drinks at the bar extortionate, even by central London prices and the breakfast nothing special with poor service despite the premium price. Must try harder.

We booked a suite and upon arrival were offered a Junior Suite for extra 15 pounds per night. We thought that was a steal. We got a 12th floor junior suite, with a view of the London Eye and Big Ben. The location was perfect; we used the bus/tube and did a ton of sightseeing. The best was to be able to go to London Eye with no line at 9 pm and seeing the city as it lit up.
We didnt do the breakfast since we had a mini kitchenette in the room. There are two very close by convinient stores open 24 hours. If you want to do the breakfast do it in advance for 10 pounds a head.
Oh, and there is a laundry in the basement! A life saver for me, since we have been travelling for 20 days with 2 children and our first question has always been where is the laundry!

Arrived after an, overnight flight from Canada, we were made very welcome when we arrived, by staff, they had our Studio apartment ready at 8 am. Which, was unexpected. The rooms are a lot bigger than normal hotel rooms in London. We was offered an upgrade to iconic view, at an extra cost, but declined because we were quite happy of our view, which was of Waterloo station, St. Paul's Cathedral, and Canary Wharf in the distance. Staff, was really helpful throughout our stay. The swimming pool was a plus, after a long day walking and sightseeing. Would have appreciated more information on facilities inside the hotel i.e. resturants, where the best views of London are. All in all it was a wonderful stay and would return and highly recommend this hotel.

We recently stayed at this hotel for one night to coincide with an anniversary. Upon arrival we were struck by how the exterior looked, modern and definantly 4 star. The interior of the hotel was just as impressive, very modern and clean. A warm welcome by the hotel reception. We also receieved a free upgrade from intrium facing to exterior with views of Big Ben and Parliament. We didn't eat dinner or lunch at the hotel itself only breakfast, which was all self service with Continential and Full English avaliable. We also joined the Club Carlsson which is free and worthwhile if you are someone who likes reward schemes. Sadly we didn't have enough time to visit the Spa but heard it was nice, they also do child free sessions if wished. The hotel is in an ideal location with just a 5/10 min walk to the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. A hotel worthy of it's 4 star status.

We were traveling as a family to celebrate a 50th Anniversary. On arrival at the Hotel there was not one person to greet or help with luggage. The lobby did not have a check in or check out line. You just waited until someone called you. It took almost 45 minutes to finally check in only to find that the Superior Rooms that we booked did not have a view. When I booked the rooms I used the toll free reservation number and on three different calls asked for a room with a view. I was never told that a Superior Room does not have a view. The Hotel was completely booked and one of the rooms was not ready. This was at 3PM. A gentlemen next to me was demanding to speak to the Hotel Manager. The staff was rude and not customer friendly. The Superior Room I was given had a narrow window (Fire Trap) looking at a WALL. I complained but was ignored and told that none of the Superior rooms have a view.
The next morning we were checking out and the same thing. No one to help with luggage, elevators packed and no lines for check out. Lobby completely filled with people with luggage. Very unorganized. While checking out a women walked in front of me with luggage and tripped me. NO ONE TRIED TO HELP ME AS I MADE A FALL. It was like another world. At this point I was crying and asked to speak with customer service. The person on staff was not helpful and passed me on to security.
I left the Hotel as we had a shuttle waiting. When I returned I emailed the Hotel three times regarding this and had no response.
The only good thing about the hotel was the location, so if you are use to service and friendly people DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. I have traveled extensively and never had an experience like this.

What a fantastic hotel, modern, stylish and spacious. This is the kind of hotel we are used to staying in when touring Asia or the UAE. We absolutely loved this hotel and would not hesitate to return.
Checkin is excellent, the rooms are beautiful and have seperate lounge and sleeping area. The location is perfect near the London Eye.
The food in the restaurant is excellent and they have live entertainment in the bar area.
Service was impeccible. We booked this as a mystery hotel through Lastminute.com and would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.
