Description: The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

Finally a City restaurant that is good enough for the West End! No longer do you need to compromise just because you are stuck in the City at lunch (or dinner time, for that matter). A fabulous, beautiful dining room, food up to the standard you'd expect from the Galvin brothers and good service.

We ate here on friday jan 22nd 2010. I had this restaurant booked before we even left Ireland for our 1st weekend in London because I knew time would be short to look for a restaurant as we arrived at our hotel at 7.30pm. The 'wow' factor starts from the minute you walk through the door which is held open for you by a smiling man in a bowler hat! and then the front desk staff flock around to take your coat and show you to your table. We had requested 'any special touch' they could give as it was my birthday that weekend and our request was rewarded with one of the best tables in the house on the 1st floor right beside the galss balcony so we could take in all that was going on around the restaurant below us! The food is unlike any I have had before, in short it was one of the best eating experiences I have ever had! I had read reviews about the Galvin restaurants (all good) and had tried to book a table at Windows but at short notice was unable to get one but this was as good I'm sure! From the minute your chair is pulled out for you to be seated, your napkin swished onto your lap to the minute you leave - everything is service, quality & professionalism at its best. To start I had the lasagne of crab, husband had the partridge, then for mains I had the halibut, he had the beef.....they were all gorgeous, my desrt plate came decorated with birthday wishes...a nice touch! Yes there was a bottle of wine on the list for £13,000 (if i can remember right!) but we chose at the lower end and were perfectly happy with our choice! This is an experience from start to finish...well worth it if you have a special occasion (definitely to propose!) or if it is your first trip to london and you want something special then you will not go far wrong here! We were knocked out by this place. Total cost of meal including service 12.5% was £145 (2 aperitifs, 2 starters,2mains,2 deserts, 1 bottle of white wine, 1 glass of red wine). In Euro €170.

Had dinner here with a friend last week, the restaurant has been open a couple of months, and is a wonderful addition to the area. Despite this area already being saturated with restaurants.

The food was delicious, we had the veloute of pumpkin and chestnut and a goats cheese salad to start, followed by beef and lamb for main courses, and tarte tatin to finish. The tarte tatin was out of this world, the best we have ever eaten with a sticky sweet coating to the apples, offset by creme fraiche.

The service was exactly right, not too intrusive, and light hearted without being in your face. We chose a red wine from the lower price range - there are wines that cost several thousand pounds, but the St Emilion we drank was lovely.
