Description: The third restaurant to be opened by acclaimed chef brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin, La Chapelle has been consistently praised, winning no less than 8 top restaurant awards in its first year, including AA London Restaurant of the Year, and Tatler magazine's Restaurant of the Year. Chef Patron, Jeff Galvin, provides a menu of modern French cuisine, gaining a Michelin star in the 2011 Red Guide, just a year after the restaurant opened. There is also a menu gourmand, prix fixe lunch, early dinner menu, and Sunday Roast lunch menu. The service, under the direction of Alessandro Piombino and his team, effortlessly combines warm, friendly and attentive hospitality with a fine sense of tradition and decorum, in keeping with the grandeur of this Grade II-listed building. The restaurant is one of the few restaurants in London to hold a vertical list of Hermitage La Chapelle wines.

I had a beautiful business lunch here. The service was excellent and the food lovely (perhaps more seasoning in the crab lasagne was required). Gorgeous wine and port to go with it. I had the beef cheeks for main meal and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Small touch which I liked - noticing and putting a cloche on the dish when someone left the table.

LaChapelle is set in an old school building with brick and wood interior combined with a modern look. We were seated in the balcony upstairs when there were tables in the main stair area so felt isolated from other diners. Only three tables in use upstairs, regulars may be looked after better. Ordered set menu 3 course with 250ml carafe of wine £38 each. Food was acceptable but for the beetroot risotto which was heavy and too rich. A jazz band entertained throughout lunch period and dominated the atmosphere which didn't add to dining experience. Toilet facilities excellent. Next time would try their bistro around corner for a more casual, fun dining experience and friendly welcome. Choice of two courses as an option would be welcome.

This really exceeded expectations. Often when a good restaurant (this one has a Michelin star) offers an affordable deal to the masses, each course screams "what did you expect when you come on a voucher/deal/etc.?!". Well, it seems that no-one explained to the staff and chefs here about pruning their offerings back for 'budget' dining...

Their £29.00 3 course menu is a pure delight - every option sounds appealing, and certainly the selection that we chose between us yesterday made us all very happy. I had the ballotine of quail with a truffle infused sauce and macerated kumquats, followed by the roast lamb (very rare) and then a delicious cheese course to finish. First rate ingredients, cooking, presentation and service, and portions that don't leave you wanting a kebab on the way home (we've all been to those restaurants where 3 pea shoots and a smear of jam represent your sauce and veg for the meal - this is not one of those!).

So just a big thank you to all there for a really lovely meal and a really big well done for showing many stuffier restaurants just what excellent food can be served, in style, for a very reasonable price. You deserve the full houses and success you are enjoying!

This was our fourth visit; we have always enjoyed the food here, but this meal topped the lot. The welcome from the maitre d' was warm and sincere and we felt looked after from the moment we were shown to our places. Service was exemplary throughout; food and drink were delivered at the perfect pace and with a smile. Fish soup was, well, very fishy and dense: perfect. Truffle risotto quite delicious. Main courses of monkfish (really tasty and seared with crunchy crust - could not have been bettered) with mussels and pheasant, cooked with such care that it was pink all through, with cranberries were amazing. The cheese board with a flight of wines was excellent. The blackberry souffle was good, if just a touch heavy. Fine coffee and house Sancerre rose. We came very early (6pm sitting) when the kitchen was not too busy.
This really was a quite exceptional meal, served with style - but not pretentious - and if there is a more beautiful setting in London we have yet to see it. Not cheap, but worth every penny.

From the lighting to the welcome, the wine to the food everything at la chapelle is considered and delivered with excellence. The taster menu is a treat.
