Somerset House is a great place to spend a bit of time, and the inner Court is magnificent. The center contains small jets of water that create a moving fountain. I understand that during the winter months, they turn it into an ice skating rink! The buildings themselves, like most of the building in London, are just incredible as to their size and architecture. Too many just pass this place by, but you need to walk over and see it for yourself to appreciate its grandeur.

Not large but perfectly formed. Medieval art, Silver. And - a superb collection of impressionist work. Spend an hour and you will leave with a sense of huge delight.

We were astonished that we could walk up to a Van Gogh within inches and not have anyone chastise us. No glass on it either. If you are expecting the Louvre, you'll be disappointed. It's a small museum with a collection that is admirable. It was one of our favorite places in London.
