“Fantastic collection”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Fantastic gallery. Paintings from many periods but especially rich in French Impressionists. If this is your thing then you must go.
Beautifully presented and well signed with info cards.
Often overlooked by visitros to London but should be on every art lovers 'must go' list.

“lovely impressionist paintings in a beautiful building”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

the square in the centre of the building is an entertainment in itself on a hot summer day due to the water fountains, or in winter when they set up a skating rink (not sure if this is an annual event) The paintings speak for themselves, but only free entry on a monday afternoon, so plan your day

“A great small gallery with added bits”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 24, 2013

We were attracted to visit the gallery by an advertisement for a exhibition on "The Young Durer". This turned out to be far better than expected and accompanied by an excellent catalogue. The whole establishment is a well maintained ex Royal Palace recently recovered from many years as government offices and well worth visiting for the main collection plus regular activities in the gigantic courtyard. On the day we visited there was a public ice rink and a fashion show. A great place to stop off for lunch too...especially in the summer when a terrace overlooking the Thames is operational.

This is a minnow compared to the size of the British Museum or the National Gallery, but a gem amongst the group of a smaller rich collections such as the Sloane, of the Wallace.

Well worth a visit.

Small interesting space with just the right number of prices after seeing the large museums. Let's you catch your breath while enjoying a very fine collection.

“Always worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2013

This is always on my visit list in London, I go to all the exhibitions there. It's a really nice little gallery and has some exhibitions that wouldn't be seen elsewhere. Summer 2013 I went to a terrific exhibition 'becoming Picasso'. It was just about one pivotal year in picasso's early life, and worked really well at the Courtauld. Fits well with a visit to the South bank, or covent garden.
