Owner description: The Courtauld Gallery is one of the finest small museums in the world. Its collection stretches from the early Renaissance into the 20th century and is particularly renowned for the unrivalled collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. The Gallery also holds an outstanding collection of drawings and prints and fine example of sculpture and decorative arts.

A small gallery compared to the big guns like the National Gallery or Tate but Courtauld turns that into an advantage by showcasing some of the best paintings from the Impressioinist and Post Impressionist periods in an easy, intimate atmosphere. Additionally the gallery puts together brilliant exhibitions on specific painters (like Picasso in spring 2013) borrowing art from other major museums to give a deeper understanding. A must visit.

Lovely place to chill for an hour and look at artwork! It's small so you won't run your feet off and they have art you'll recognize even if you aren't an art major!

Tucked away off the Strand near Trafalgar Square, the Courtauld Gallery boasts a fine collection of Impressionist paintings, both British and European. The gallery consists of smaller rooms than the National Gallery, and makes for a more intimate viewing experience. There is a free day (check website). Well worth a visit!

Even with a 2 for 1 offer this wasn't worth the money. As per the title there are many other galleries etc in London and many are free and most are better. I didn't really like much of the art on display, its not very big and even taking our time we weren't here for long. Stay outside and admire the buildings would be my tip

We had only a short time to spend at the Gallery and spent most of it on the Picasso exhibition - amazing and beautifully presented. Have a great deal more respect for the artist now than before seeing his body of work for only a short period of his life brought together in this exhibition. Will be back at the Courtauld again next time in London to see more of the Gallery's collection.
