Owner description: The Courtauld Gallery is one of the finest small museums in the world. Its collection stretches from the early Renaissance into the 20th century and is particularly renowned for the unrivalled collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist paintings. Superb collection, perfect for a Sunday morning! This was a wonderful treat in December, with the other delights nearby at Somerset House. The rooms are quite small which makes it feel intimate, and there are some absolute treasures inside.

Yes, that's right; what is so useful for most museums is a no-no for the Courtauld Gallery, simply because part of its charm is to run across a Van Gogh, Degas or Manet without even expecting it. It's a relativily small display, so you don't get overwhelmed trying to look at everything and seeing nothing.
As it is a short walking distance from The National Gallery, you can visit both on the same day. And it is also free on Mondays until 2 pm!

Saw the Valentino exhibition at Somerset House. It was amazing and very well presented. I would see it again and again.

A wonderful little gallery. Not the largest collection in the world but still encompassing a few hundred years and some really breathtaking pieces. Housed in a beautiful building in an easy to reach location it's well worth checking out.

Lovely gallery in the heart of London. Worth to visit, especially for those who loves XIX century artists. They had great works of G.Seurat,V.van Gogh and number of others.
