“Hidden Treasures”
Reviewed August 9, 2011

I found the Courtauld Gallery by chance on the internet and after looking around the gallery with the virtual tour was I was convinced that it would be worthwhile visiting.
We went on a Monday, between the hours of 10.00 and 14.00 it is free to get in so that was an added bonus. Breathtaking art surrounded most rooms, never did we imagine that some paintings would rival those in The National Gallery. Great buildings too and a magnificent staircase.Nearest tube was Temple it's just a five minute walk away.

“Summer hols half price offer with London midland trains.”
Reviewed July 29, 2011

Small gallery, but big enough to see every painting and not suffer art overload. Mostly impressionist and post impressionist paintings (my absolute favourite)with works by Manet, Monet, Renor, Van Gough, Cezane and others. Until Sept 18 2011 there is a special exhibition focussing on Toulouse Lautrec and his muse Jean Avril, fascinating, with borrowed works from Paris, New York and Chicago. It would be a good choice for youngsters who are interested in art. Pick up a brochure with entry vouchers and terms and conditions for the London Midland train, half price offer at your local station or visit www.londonmidland.com/offers.

“The Best Museum in London, A Must See”
Reviewed July 24, 2011

I loved this museum so much. It had amazing art and when we went it was free to top it off. I love it because it is very intimate and peaceful, like you are visiting someone and their house is full of amazing art. The French art is to die for. There are also a few famous paintings here too. It's also within walking distance to the National Gallery and Portrait Galleries so you should kill two birds with one stone. A must see in London.

“Big gift in a small package”
Reviewed July 23, 2011

This little museum at the Somerset House is worth seeking out. A small but fascinating collection in a gorgeous building. And a great cafe to boot! (Watch out for the pigeons outside though!)

“Pricey for a compact experience”
Reviewed July 5, 2011

I was very impressed with the works on display and, on a muggy afternoon, the gallery's air conditioning! I enjoyed seeing some lovely pictures up close (eg several by Cezanne), and being permitted to photograph anything (no flash). But, given the compact size of the gallery, the entrance fee represents poor value for money and they have an inflated idea of the value of their postcards for sale in the gallery shop!
