The hotel's website was slightly misleading- the shuttle service was excellent but needed to be booked in advance and only runs from Clapham Junction/Clapham Common at quarter past the hour and quarter to the hour. I was quite grumpy to be told we would have to wait 25 minutes expecially because it would be very diifcult to book in advance if, like us, you were travelling on the underground with no reception so we got a taxi. We booked the shuttle in advance the other times we used it and were otherwise pleased with the service.

Our room was very pleasant, and the shower was particularly good. The bed was comfortable although I thought the sheets were a little bit rough. we slept very well until 8.30am on Sunday when one of the other guests allowed the hotel to demonstrate how efficiently their fire alarms operate- no smoking means no smoking!

Just returned from London after staying at Rafayel on the left bank. What a brilliant Hotel we arrived at 11.30am and wanted to see if we could drop of our bags at the hotel so that we could get around London without any luggage to to carry around, The receptionists were very welcoming and checked to see if our room was ready to check into there and then and it was.

The room was lovely and quiet and very spacious with excellent views over the Thames. The bed was very very comfortable. We had free access to the spa and gym facilities and made the most of this. The only negative points were that the steam room was out of order and that would of been nice to use.. but all in all I would highly recommend this hotel.

For those that complained about it being too far out I would disagree as there are complimentary transfers to Clapham junction and why not enjoy the scenery and have a leisurely walk by the Thames its a lovely short walk and you can get to see the sights in Chelsea with its brilliant bars and eateries.

Really good price for a five-star hotel in London;
Location is fine, however, it should be noted there is no sub station nearby, you can only take the bus, or the hotel free transfer service to the sub station (every half hour);

Room was nice, although it was a bit annoying at the first as we were assigned to a service apartment in the connected building, which they called an upgrade. However, when you expect a proper and cosy hotel room, I don't think to stay in a home-like apartment for one or two nights sounds too attractive. (and it is probably even cheaper to stay in their service apartment).

btw, the SPA service in the hotel is quite cheap (all guests have 50% discount) but a pre-booking is recommended as they availability is rather limited.

Almost forgot, they have a 'very strick non-smoking' policy, which is fine to me. However, when there is ANY OTHER guest who dare to smoke in the hotel, the fire alarm would run, no matter what time it is: for my case, I heard the alarm at 6am, for about 5 minutes.

This is a great value for money 5 stars hotel. It is a new hotel, a bit difficult to find, but brand new, modern and with good style, but there is something that is missing, could be character, the oddity of the reception, service is a bit hot and miss.
SO good potential, but a few points to improve

Stayed there last weekend for one night to go and see a show.
Room we had on the 3rd floor had good views of the Thames. Room was really comfy but felt the cupboards looked a bit jaded (nit picking I know). However, it was quiet from the other guests which was important. Never heard a peep!
Restaurant overlooked the river and served up fab cocktails. We had lunch and breakfast the following day. Lunch was good (unsure about pea puree though) as was breakfast, the following day.
Parking cheap (£15) but it is a fair way from the west end though. We were OK with that. The hotel provides it's own taxi service.

All in all a pleasant stay.

If you are staying in this hotel or using the Spa you will be very pleased.

My partner booked the Spa & Hotel for my Birthday we had a fantastic time all the staff made our stay very special our room had a fantastic view of the Thames was very large very clean, Rooms must be sound proof the Battersea Helipad is only 50 meters from the Hotel so no Noise in fact it was good fun watching them land & take off.

The Spa was a little small, the staff made us very welcome the massage was amazing very professional.

We will defiantly stay in this Hotel again.

Thank you.

Room Tip: Make sure you have a river view.

Stayed at Rafayel 14th March for a birthday weekend with my partner. We were welcomed at reception by a friendly receptionist who told us we had a free upgrade to a suite.We were quickly shown to our room which was overlooking the Thames and had floor to ceiling windows. We had a beautiful view of the river and Battersea helipad where there were helicopters landing and taking off about every 20 minutes.The room itself was spotlessly clean and the bathroom second to none,with a bath with overhead rainfall shower and a tv at one end. Although it was directly above the restaurant, we never heard any noise at all. We ate lunch outside the restaurant on the terrace overlooking the river as it was a lovely day,the 2 course meal was excellent, I had the soup starter and fish and chips,which came in a little chip basket with a pot if pea purée and what I think was chilli dip,and a glass of Pinot Grigio. My partner had the chicken tikka starter and lamb biryani with beer and all if it was if very high standard and delicious. The waiting staff were efficient and friendly. We asked for reception to order a cab to take us to the theatre in the evening and a driver offered to take us,this cost us 20pound,and he gave us a card to ring him if we needed to get back. The only thing I can think to criticise on is that the hotel is a fair distance from London centre and we found it a bit of a rush to get out in the evening, however, this is not the hotels fault and it does reflect the ridiculously cheap price for this luxurious boutique hotel. We would definitely stay there again, everything was perfect and the view of Chelsea and the river amazing. Thank you Rafayel for an enjoyable,perfect 50th birthday treat.
