Our friend, a London taxi driver, took us to this great pub on the square by the Smithfield market. Same square where William Wallace (Braveheart) was executed, because the market's butchers had the skills needed to draw and quarter him!
Our group was the only tourists in this packed pub. The waitress was quick. The food was outstanding: fresh and filling. The beer choices on tap were also great.
Well worth a detour, and the neighborhood has some sightseeing highlights as well!
