I had booked to check in at 11am but when I arrived at 11.30 I was told that the room would not be ready until at least 2pm. We left our bags, which were left by reception totally unsecure.

I am aware that London hotel rooms are small so we booked an executive room and we were falling over each other. The bed was so close to the desk and the wall we had to climb over the bed to get to the other side of the room. If you sat at the desk you blocked the other person from moving around the room. We also found a set of glo-sticks in the room which had not been cleaned away, when we took them to reception they were not bothered.

The bathroom was smaller than 1 x 1 meter, you fell over the toilet getting out of the shower.

The rooms are very noisy, you can hear everything out on the street, out in the corridor, upstairs and in the next room.

The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard but the size of the room detracted from the decor. If we had taken a case any bigger we would not have had any floor space in the room at all.

We stayed here for one night and it was a perfect base for a trip to London - a short walk from the tube and very near the shops in Kensington High Street. The hotel was extremely clean and well-equipped, with the only criticism being that the room smelt slightly of cigarette smoke. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and we were especially impressed with the member of staff at reception (on duty 10 December and 11 December).

I spent five nights at this recently renovated hotel in November. The entrance is discreet on Kensington High Street with steps leading to the first floor where the reception/lounge is located (if you have lots of luggage, ring and the staff will help you take it up the stairs) . The rooms are small, cluttered but have all the facilities that one needs- excellent interior design (superb use of colors with black and white wall paper photography) with good beds/quality linen, towels- was impressed with the discreet blue lighting at the bottom of the shower stall....The noise unfortunately as in all these old buildings in London is an issue (from within the hotel). But best of all is the wonderful service by a superb staff who made you feel always very welcome....

I stayed here for two nights whilst in town on business. The double room I had would be a squeeze for two people but was fine for me on my own. There is a small desk area but not really enough room to work properly, you would need to sit on the bed with your laptop! However given that I paid only £93 per night including breakfast to stay in a smart part of town I don't think I can complain about room size, and everything else about this place is great. Newly decorated in a bright and trendy colour scheme, the rooms are stylish with "boutique" hotel touches eg. silk cushions on the bed. Buffet breakfast in an airy room overlooking Kensington High Street was easy and relaxed, you could help yourself to as much as you wanted. The staff are really friendly and helpful. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back of the hotel as the traffic from the High Street might bother you. This hotel has the look and feel of somewhere much more expensive, and is excellent value for money. Ideal for a short stay in town.

A great little hotel bang opposite Royal Garden on Kensington High St. Entrance is easy to miss - a small doorway leading up to a first floor reception.

Small rooms (the first double we were shown was too small for two people, with not enough room to walk around the bed, but they found us a larger one); well thought-out design, lots of nice little touches (ipod dock/alarm, good toiletries, free wifi etc), and truly excellent staff - nothing too much trouble. Highly recommended.

My wife and I are from Malta and went to London for a small break and chose this hotel after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. I am always dubious about hotels in London as 99% of the time the hotel looks nothing like it did in the pictures you viewed beforehand. But with Seraphine Hotel I was pleasantly surprised. The location is very good and is a two minute walk from the nearest tube station, the rooms were extremely clean and well maintained and were equipped with plasma tv's with a large number of channels and radio stations, and the staff couldn't be more polite and helpful and even went as far as barterring with the local taxi company to try and get us a discount on our return journey to the airport. I would highly recommend this hotel.
