Description: Like shoe designing, whipping up a great dish is an art, says Jimmy Choo who has ventured in to the world of food with Maximini, an oriental restaurant near Hyde Park where the celebrity shoe smith is bringing a slice of his Malaysian home to Britain. As beautifully dressed as any of Jimmys A-list clients, Maximini is simplistic and chic with a hint of old fashioned colonial style which perfectly suits its fabulous Bayswater address. The irresistible Malaysian dishes are fused with more familiar Chinese flavours by master chef Albert Koh, to produce an innovative and exciting menu which, like a timeless pair of heels, looks set to become this seasons must-have.

I went into London last weekend to meet a friend who was in town from Zurich.
I cringed when he said he was staying in Paddington and "hey lets go out for dinner" as the Paddington area is devoid of any decent restaurants.

I went onto Toptable and found a load of recommendations for this fantastic hidden gem!

Great location, gosh we saw a Zonda and several Ferraris nearby.

Fantastic fresh food, very nice sauces one of the best fusion Chinese I've ever had. There's a great selection of traditional and some imaginative meals on their menu.

The service was NON intrusive, swishing by taking care delivering/collecting, first class.

I will definitely be going there again!

Located in a rather quiet area near Lancaster Gate tube.

It's a restaurant with property feeling (not the noisy Chinese chaos).
It was great to be able to have a booking for large group at the last minute.

Great selection of Chinese to Malaysian food. Really decent value and volume. Since dishes area quite big, I think it would need good to go with a group and share.

Had the best Hong Kong style seabass since I was in Thailand. The meal was really enjoyable - well cooked and speedily presented. Wine was also excellent. The restaurant is only a short walk from Paddington station so usefully situated. This was the second time of visiting and we'll certainly be going back.
