“Excellent time after time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2014

I have eaten at this gastro pubs many many times and I have never written a review on here, but I feel they deserve to be recognised for serving up great food combined with good service, time after time. They food is always well cooked, varied and delicious.

“Great Pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2014

Went to this pub on Sunday for lunch, it was lovely. Sat outside on the tables at the front in beautiful sunshine, food was good, most of us had pizzas, the others fish and chips and the staff were very friendly. However they were unable to supply any Lea & Perrins for the tomato juice.

“Good for drinks not great for food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 7, 2014

Great atmosphere. Beautiful restaurant. Food was mediocre. I had the back ribs and they were dry and lacked flavour.

“Excellent Birthday Lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 17, 2014

I went to The Avalon as part of a party of 10 for my birthday lunch yesterday. I was so impressed with the friendly service and the quality of the food. I had the roast chicken and couldn't fault it. Everyone was happy with their meals which ranged from Sunday Roasts, Fish and Chips, Burgers, Pizza and Crab pasta. I would definitely recommend.

“Love the Avalon, hate the food”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 27, 2014

I love the Avalon for drinks but had a roast there yesterday that was just so overpriced and really not good. I had roast cod at 16 quid, it was a piece of underseasoned tasteless cod on peas (no roast potatos, nothing) and i was completely starving after which I would really not expect after a Sunday lunch. It had a few tiny pieces of chorizo which were nice but other than that pretty horrendous. The person I was with had the beef which was at least a better portion but still really mediocre... Would not go back for food, definitely not for anyone looking for a good Sunday roast!
