“Fabulous Location.”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

Had a Family meal here on Saturday night for 15 people. Although it was very busy, the food and service were excellent. The staff were very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Would not hesitate to go there again.

“The Bard Would Approve”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

Lovely setting & delightful atmosphere.

Quite good value, when you consider the captive (tourist) audience.

Menu innovative & well executed, service friendly &, in the main, prompt ... even if both are a little theatrical.

Will definiteloy be back.

“Opportunity to impress”
Reviewed December 16, 2013

It's a well worn cliche that there lies an opportunity in every problem. Well, the staff at the Swan Bar & Chophouse seem to recognise this and when they brought me a very well cooked steak (instead of medium-rare), there was no hesitation in fixing this with a freshly cooked steak. The second steak could have appeared quicker but it was a very busy pre-Christmas lunchtime and the service was generally very good given how busy it was.

Otherwise I found very little fault with the food - excellent Pigeon starter. Perhaps the Panna Cotta desert could have been a bit lighter and less firm. Wine was very good (not sure if that reflects the wine list generally or if we just struck it lucky with the bottles we chose).

“A Pleasant Surprise”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

It's always a fillip to go into somewhere thinking that it will be at best average, only to find that it rises well above your expectations. The Swan at the Globe is one such.
Lured in by a clever blackboard sign on the pavement near the Globe saying "Do you fancy a coffee and a mince pie?" which, after a long day's wandering round the sights of London, received a unanimous "Yes", what we each received was a perfectly poured cappuccino and a 10cm diameter mince tart, which was not only beautifully cooked and decorated, but had cream etc with it. Fine, it wasn't particularly cheap, but it was excellent value for money, particularly considering the location.

“Hidden gem”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Sounds odd but why this restaurant isn't busier amazes me. Good menu, frequently changing and decent wine list. Best of all though are the sweeping views of the Thames and North bank. Gorgeous
