Great venue with stunning views of the city. Good food and great service. Felt well looked after and perfect links to the theatre. Starter of combined potted trout, tomato and feta salad, and onion frittata was a little unusual, but nice.

We booked a pre-theatre supper more for the convenience of the venue than anything else and we genuinely didn't know what to expect. This is a restaurant where everything has been thought out very carefully. We were greeted at the door (having received a 'reminder' email some days before) and invited to go the bar to wait - the restaurant opens at 5.30. The menu started with a shared platter of hors d'oeuvres, which were absolutely delicious. The entrees and desserts were equally good and coffee was served with two petits-fours which were clearly home-made and gorgeous. The bill arrived placed artistically inside an old book - nice touch. My only slight complaint (not enough to lower the rating) is that when directed to the ladies' toilet when we were in the bar, we had to climb quite a flight of stairs - not easy for either of us, unfortunately. When the time came to go up to the restaurant, our 'usher' saw that we were both of reduced mobility and gave us the option of a lift to the first floor (next to these same toilets). The ground floor next to the bar has only a gents' toilet - and there is no signage to indicate where an accessible toilet can be found. This is a bit disappointing - please sort this out, management!

Had an excellent pre-theatre meal. The menu was clearly well thought out, offering something slightly different. Service was very good and it was good value.

We had a special meal on a bustling Friday evening. Every element of the meal was cooked to perfection. My boyfriend ordered a mediun rare airloun steak and the quality was sublime. Must admit we both agreed it was the best steak we had ever had.

Ok the price of the food isn't cheap...however it is in line with London restaurant prices...so totally acceptable. The wine list was interesting with the English white wine being absolutely divine. I love this restaurant and will return one day.

We had a wonderful meal here before visiting the Globe Theater. Excellent fish and chips paired with a good ale. Lovely view on the river.
