We stayed in the recommended basement apartment and it was if we were living in a fishbowl. Passersby look in constantly from above, and it is easy to do so. There is someone emptying garbage or something right outside the window. The walls are paper thin, so you can hear things all day and night, and I am assuming, they can hear you too. Getting a cab took longer than if you were at a larger hotel, but it we did stay there during the Olympics. The bed wasn't a king, but rather two doubles slapped together that slipped apart if you moved at all. The creakiness of the mattresses made one wonder exactly what lay beneath the sheets and covers. So, yes, it is a functional room, and yes there is someone at reception, but if you value your privacy at all, do not stay here.

I booked this apartment at a heavily discounted rate, even so I found the rooms to be nice but in need of refurbishment; cracked tiles, stripped wood, windows don't lock etc. The air conditioning was also poor and the check in process was very slow! Overall the apartments are nice, an in a convenient location but for the price I would recommend elsewhere!

Visited London recently and stayed at the Presidential apartments, Kensington, Deluxe studio apartment 2nd floor, from June 10th to 16th 2012. The place is located near the Earl's Court tube station in a posh quiet neighbourhood. The apartment is well attended by pleasant people at the reception round the clock. The apartments are looked after just like a star hotel, with bed making, toileteries and breakfast (if you opt for). Its neat clean, well equipped kitchen, nice comfortable beds, wifi and all you can ask for. Kensington being in central London is easily accesible for sightseeing all the tourist attractions in London. I would strongly reccomend this place although the tariff is a bit steep.

Room Tip: Stay in ground floor or above apartments. The basement ones are cheap but stifling.

Fahad Alyahya (from Saudi Arabia) - I had two apartments, one for 2 weeks, the second one for 3 weeks; i am a frequent flyer. The location is excellent, residential area which is quiet at the same time very close to public transportation and shopping. The pictures on the website reflects the reality, pleasant design, excellent service. All the staff of Presidential Apartments Kensington including the manager Andrea, they made my stay for me and my family like we are home with their personal touch and professionalism. Well recommended, for me it is a very good option to stay when I'm in London.

Room Tip: Apartment 106 - high ceiling, balcony, excellent view to the gardens

We stayed 2 nights on the 29th & 30th June. Our initial impression of our room, A09, was all positive. It was spacious, very well equipped with Cook-top, fridge, separate freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, large flat-screen TV, large comfortable bed and lounge seat. It had plenty of storage and work space. It was also nice to find fresh fruit in the room. All the fittings were state of the art. Then we looked in the bathroom. It was unbelievably dirty. It wasn't as though they forgot to clean it after the last tenant, it looked as though it had never been cleaned. There were multiple rust stains on the floor on either side of the toilet from the toilet brush holder. The other obvious feature was the lack of shower curtain or screen on the in-bath shower. We were tired, we had just made our way by train down from Edinburgh on the day the east coast line was washed out, so we decided to put up with it for one night. Needless to say, after we both showered, the bathroom floor was flooded. What else? We couldn't find any toiletries. We found out later they were hidden in a cupboard below the basin and we weren't the first that couldn't find them. When we checked in we were told to ring '5' if we had any questions (and the phone was in the cupboard). We had occasion to ring '5' that night when the fire alarm went off. I didn't appreciate until then how many cupboards there were.

Because of the bathroom problems they moved us to A06, on the same floor, the next day. A06 was similar to A09 just smaller. The bathroom was identical except it was clean and there was a glass shower screen covering half the side of the bath. We were happy and moved in. Sometime later we noticed a strong musty smell coming from the bathroom. Easy to fix, we just kept the bathroom door closed.

We strongly suspect that the occupants of A09 and A06 just exchanged rooms. We'd love to know how they got on.

The Presidential Apartments have a lot going for them. Great location & great facilities. Just check your room carefully before you unpack.

Room Tip: Beware room A09. If you're given A06, spend some time in it before unpacking.

Great Apartments overlooking a beautiful green square just 2 mins for Earls Court tube. All shopping really close. M&S and loads of other grocery Options and restaurants at end of the road. Easy 15 min walk to Kensington High Street down leafy streets. Apartment facilities were fab. Modern, clean and well equipt kitchenette with microwave, oven, hob, fridge, dishwasher and good supply of crockery etc. Our room was terribly hot and the air conditioning did not seem to work. Someone was on hand within 10 minutes of us mentioning it - to fix it. The sofa bed was made up for us each day we returned from our travels and packed away each morning. Loads of fluffy towels were on hand plus extras when we asked. Replaced daily. Staff helped us with our bags. Only downside was that while we had gorgeous view of the square, the backpackers across the road was very noisy till late at night with people congregating on the front steps talking loudly. Probably wouldn't have this problem at the back of the hotel. Although once it did die down it ws a very quiet environment. Also the hallways and reception area were extremely extremely hot. No air con here it would seem. We got a sauna every time we entered the halls. The poor staff were sweltering. This needs sorting.

Room Tip: Maybe try a room at the back of the hotel for a quieter experience.
