Presidential Apartments Kensington

I've stayed at the Presidential 3 or 4 times now, and every stay as good as the last, and unlike a regular hotel, it consistantly good - that and it comes with kitchen, convenience and space.

A one Bedroom apartment gives you a huge bedroom with really comfortable bed and linens, a bathroom with toiletries and daily towel changes, and a third room being lounge (with massive HD TV), dining room and kitchen.

A studio apartment is as the name implies, all-in-one, but even so; same comfy bed, dining table and chairs, sofa (sofabed) in front of the big screen TV, with kitchen slotted in for good measure.

In both rooms styles the Kitchen is not just a microwave and sink - we're talking 4 ring halogen hob, full size oven/grill, fridge and freezer big enough for a family of 5, a dishwasher (with tablets), sink, microwave, toaster, kettle pots and pans...and evening a washing machine in case you really want to feel like you're at home! The apartments are all serviced daily with top up of tea, coffee, biscuits etc.

The location is great, just 5 mins walk from Earls Court tube station, and there's loads of pubs and places to eat. There's an M&S, Sainsbury's and Waitrose all within a 5-10 minute walking distance.

Apartments to the rear have a quiet outlook, those to the front get the sunshine but you might get disturbed early morning by the bin man and other early morning street noise.

Helpful front desk, free wifi and free daily newspaper, nothing ever too much trouble, always a great stay.

Room Tip: Apartments to the rear have a quiet outlook, those to the front get the sunshine but you might get d...

I have stayed a couple of times - both long and short stays in Presidential Apartments Kensington.

The area is really good, very close to Earls Courts tube station (considering that it's at Zone 1/Zone 2 and has Piccadilly and Central and District lines - you can really get anywhere from there). A short walk to the Hotel, probably only around 5 minutes.

The reception was nothing fancy, but I don't really care anyway. During a long stay when my family visited, I booked two studio rooms on the basement, the only downside is not having an elevator so the butler has to help us carry our suitcases downstairs. They were not really connecting rooms however to get to these two rooms there was an unlocked door so we felt like the rooms were connected and we had our own space to go from one room to another. Other times during my short stays I stayed at one of the upper floor rooms and they were as good.

The room was really spacious, modern and clean, equipped with a Queen sized bed and a big sofa bed. There was also a big refrigerator, sink, hobs, microwaves, and cable TV. Bathroom was OK and they provided heated underfloor which was really comforting in the chilly London weather!

Staffs were very polite and helpful. I paid only around 125 Pounds each for a room - which was quite a deal considering that it was during the high season.

Overall I'd really recommend Presidential Suite. I've stayed at base2stay (same price) and it was not as good as Presidential Suite (location-wise, apartment-wise and space-wise!) Def would come back.

Room Tip: If you're travelling with a lot of children and need two rooms - request for the studio rooms in...

This was a good hotel experience. Situated a short walk from Earls Court tubestation with shops, pubs and restaurants nearby. found it without a map. A small reception area that could be rather crowded at times of check-in and check-out, but friendly and efficient staff. As we arrived early and left late we had our luggage stored with no extra charge. Having read other reviews we specifically asked for a room above ground. We got a room on the 3rd floor facing the road but there was very little noise from traffic even though we had the windows open all night. There were 2 comfortable but rather narrow beds. The sofabed was rather uncomfortable but ok for only a few nights.
There was a fully equipped kitchenette with refrigerator, a kettle, a selection of tea and instant coffee and even a small dishwasher and washing machine. Also in the cupboards was a safe, hairdrier and iron. The bathroom was small with a bathtub. No plug though, so it could only be used as shower. There was also a selection of soap, showergels etc., Shavingkit and toothbrush included. This is a place we could come back to.

We are arriving in London on Saturday and after reading these reviews we are concerned about getting our luggage down to the below ground apartments - after cruising and traveling for four weeks our luggage has become extremely heavy - is the assistance at the hotel on a Saturday or any other day - we also would like to know if the apartments have a washing machine

I occupied the apartment for two weeks. Location is really great...easy access to the tube and Bus services. Staff seemed OK. They had a rather strict policy of when you can occupy the apartment....1400 hrs on the dot....only. I was placed in Room 206 initially but due to the smell of mould in the bathroom I registered a complaint. They were unable to relocate me until the next day...after the mould smell was checked by the Head Housekeeper....! She confirmed that there had been a problem with this studio suite with water leakage and agreed that the smell was an issue. This did not impress me as I felt that if there was a problem with the suite it should not have been made available for use.. I was moved to Room 306...much better as far as the mould smell but it still had a slight smell of mould but I could accept this as the UK is rather damp anyway. Room service as far as cleaning the room was acceptable. Staff were friendly... no complaints. As many other people have mentioned, noise from the Youth Hostel in front of the Apartment is a concern...as early in the morning heated and loud discussions took place (0400). This was somewhat disturbing if you had the windows open.
I would probably consider booking again but would do some searching on the net first for a better deal next time.

We stayed in this hotel for a week that was regrettably paid in advance. Only positive internet reviews brought us to this place, but we ended up dealing with some horrible attitudes. I sent an email to the management complainig about the shocking treatment my family and I have received, and they didnt even respond. Long story short, our worst ever stay..and spoiled our vacation in london.

We booked (and regrettably stayed) three nights in these apartments. We are a family of four, two adults and two young children. We booked an executive suite so that the kids could sleep together in the sofa bed. We reported the that the sofa bed was broken the first night that we arrived. The staff said they could not do anything until the next morning. The following morning we requested that they either fix or change the sofa bed, and left for the day. When we returned at 9pm, exhausted and with one of the kids already asleep, we found out that they had not done anything about the sofa bed. Being saturday night, there was only one person there as staff, so we settled to sleep on a single sofa bed and a rollaway bed which was crooked. Since both of these were too narrow, the kids kept falling over so I had to sleep on one of the cots...honestly, to pay 250 GBP to sleep on a cot is SHAMEFULL!!! The following morning, with a horrible back ache and a very bad mood, we requested either to have a room change or for them to change the sofa bed. They promised to have this sorted but that they needed to speak with the manager. In the afternoon they had done nothing about it, so we requested it AGAIN. When we returned at 8pm they had still NOT done ANYTHING about it. All this time I had requested to speak with the manager, but they either have NO manager at all, or it is their best excuse to avoid taking decisions. We left the hotel yesterday and left messages and notes for the manager to get in touch with us...of course I am still waiting. If we would have paid 80 GBP a night, we might have settled for this kind of treatment, but at the price we paid I would NEVER recommend anyone to book this hotel.

Room Tip: Sofa beds are terrible!!!
