“Welcoming Whitechapel”
Reviewed March 4, 2013

The staff here are great - professional, friendly, flexible and discreet.

Food is also very good. Seasonal and interesting. Great for lunch catering for both casual and business trade.

Whilst this is an outpost of Angela Hartnell's growing empire in a slightly edgy part of town, I'd rather go here than nearby Brick Lane !

“Excellent find!”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

Have wanted to go here for some time after reading previous reviews and boy wasn't disappointed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Good mix of dishes on the menu as well as the specials. For starters had squid x2, ham hock and Dorset cockles - the latter of which was well presented but had some shell in the liquor. Mains were Gurnard, cod and chips, onglet steak and cheese soufflé with candid walnut salad (so is your mouth watering yet?) Wines were great with some good choice at reasonable prices. Room for deserts, and again presented well, only slight comment would be the cheese board needs to be more adventurous. If we lived nearby this would be a regular haunt -would definitely recommend this restaurant.

“A great little find”
Reviewed December 26, 2012

My friend and I booked this on recommendation last time we were working in the city as its close to the hotel we stay in and what a find.

Its a small dining and quite informal a small menu but make sure you ask for the specials, we both ordered from the that menu and loved it.

Would highly recommend.

“Excellent liitle retauarant”
Reviewed December 12, 2012

An excellent liitle retauarant. We had to wait about 45 minutes for our food, so it is not the place for a quick bite to eat. However everything is cooked fresh and it was well worth the wait. The slow cooked pork was superb. Mineral water £1 per peson still or sparking and as much as you want. Where else can you get that?

“An Arty Sunday Roast”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

One of my fav things to do on Sunday is to go the Whitechapel dining room for their lunchtime. roast. Place is quite small so can feel nice and cozy, with a stylish feel. Staff always friendly and don't hog you. Food cooked beautifully. At end of meal can relax, gaze out on to the street enjoying a glass of wine after feeling nicely full. Deserts always yummy.
Then with that warm happy satisfied feeling inside can stroll around the gallery taking in the always interesting art.
