It used to be good (we use to go there at least once a fortnight) but the last 3 times we have been there we feel that the quality and standards of the food has dropped significantly. The broth now tastes like it is from stock cubes and the grilled pork doesn't taste like it has been marinated and definitely not grilled. Microwaved perhaps???? No tap water is served (against the law), cash only (tax evasion???) and 50p for takeaway for my little one couldn't finish her meal....We will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER go back again and will warn of others not to go.

Been to Café East many times from back when it was still in Deptford. Its gone from good to pretty crappy experience over the past few years. The food seems to have deteriorated in quality (too many customers??) and these days they even charge 50p for a takeover box (don't even let me start with them not serving tap water and not accepting credit card). Have decided to boycott them. Mama Pho in Deptford (occupying Café East's previous premis in Deptford) is way better.

Very good Sunday lunch - food served very quickly and if you've not had Vietnamese before the menu is easy to read and choose items as it has very accurate pictures to follow, Food freshly made and very tasty

I would recommend this restaurant - one note of caution they only take cash - no cards !!!

We have been a few times and the food seems to be consistent. Some dishes taste better than others for instant the beef pho is a bit tough the meat but the stock has layers of flavours like it should be. The rice steamed rolls are very nice with lots of pork inside and garnished on top with fried onions. Good size portons but not alot of choices on the menu.

This place is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. Our evening after-badminton event will not be complete without dining in this restaurant. At 9:30 pm, the place still has a long queue considering that its closing time is an hour later.

It is always full of oriental people which is a very good sign that the restaurant serves authentic Vietnamese food.

The ban coun as starters is always on our list. However, as loyal customers, noted that the size has become smaller since we started eating in this place three years ago. The phos are always the highlight of our dining experience. These are massive soup portions with a mound of rice noodles and decent servings of beef, chicken, prawns or combination. Go for the spicy soup, you will love it!

If you like authentic Vietnamese food, you cannot go wrong with this restaurant. One note - they don't serve tap water.
