This restaurant was recommended to me by a family friend and I decided to give it a go, seeing as I have never eaten Vietnamese food.
It is situated in a dingy, industrial area of Surrey Quays behind Tesco and the Hollywood Bowl Bingo Hall and doesn't look like a nice place to eat.
The first good sign was that the restaurant was full of Oriental customers, a sign that the food is authentic. To start I had the steamed pastry rolls with pork and mushrooms and crispy onions, served with the house fish sauce. They were absolutely wonderful - a great texture, packed full of flavour and the fish sauce just made the dish perfect.
For main I had the rice noodle soup with rare and well done beef. The soup was delicately spiced and the beef was sumptuous. The noodles provided the bulk and yet again, I sampled a perfect dish. This dish comes with bean sprouts, coriander, mint and chilli to put in the soup.
Overall this was a great meal consisting of brilliant and authentic Vietnamese food, great value and service without fault. I would recommend this to anyone who likes good quality food and a new and unforgettable experience.
