I booked afternoon tea here as a restorative treat between day tripping and a evening concert at the nearby Royal Albert hall. The lounge area where tea is served is very informal with large, comfortable chairs and a roaring fire. Service was fast and attentive. The tea consisted of finger sandwiches, but these seemed to have been stored in the fridge, so they were quite hard and cold which was a shame. A gin and Tonic sorbet was really wonderful, followed by warmed mini scones and a selection of cakes. We did not feel hassled or hurried, spending an hour or two chatting. We sent for more tea and sadly it was very weak. i also booked on an internet offer but was charged the full amount until I asked for the bill to be represented (but this is uncomfortable if with friends) so overall a 4/5.
