Restaurant details
Good for: Large groups, Families with children
Dining options: Breakfast, Late Night, Reservations
Neighborhood: Southbank
Description: This smart glass-fronted cafe, restaurant bar on Belvedere Road is neighbours with the Royal Festival Hall, Westminster Kitchen! and Chez Gerard in that cultural hot-spot, the Southbank. The 82-dishes (excluding set, special and children meals) offer a comprehensive taste of Turkey's national (healthy) diet. There's kisir, a cold starter of nuts, bulgar wheat, herbs and spring onions. Hearty mains include kuzu guvec, a lamb casserole, and a delicious mariage of runner beans and onions served with a rich tomato sauce and rice called yesil fasulye. There are fish, pasta, rice, and special veggie dishes too. Desserts make an intriguing change from treacle pudding and cheesecake. How about kaymakh kestane - sweet chestnuts sprinkled with chestnuts and served with home-made cream?

“Marvellous moussaka”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

Lovely restaurant over the road from the premier inn. Great food and good value or money . The moussaka was really good as was the baklava. Wish we'd gone both nights.

“Better than average.”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Midweek night after a lubricated time on the Festival Hall terrace. Looking for stomach padding but one of our group had been to Troia before so we came here. Sat outside on balmy evening beside closed road at back of old County Hall building. Good value and tasty Turkish food. Reasonably quick and served by two very efficient waitresses. A bottle of Rose, a couple of beers, three courses including excellent baklava and perfect Turkish coffee averaged at about £26 each.

“Average”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

We stopped by here because it had decent reviews and was near the London Eye, which was to be our next stop. Ate outside because the weather was nice. However, the service was a bit scatty, and while the falafel was really good, the remainder of the meal was only okay.

“Best restaurant ever!”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

My family has several different food allergies and this restaurant was very accomadating. We were able to have meals that were vegan, gluten free, dairy free, and oil free. They are very friendly and patient! Great atmosphere!
