I’m not normally a fan of chain restaurants, but this was better than I had anticipated. Decor wise, it’s tidy and up together and the menu offered a good choice of dishes, something for most palettes.
A starter of Beef tomato, mozzarella and avocado was simple but refreshing and tasty whilst another starter of meatballs in a tomato sauce was also very good. A Risotto with butternut squash and pancetta was a pretty good main, although perhaps just lacking something flavour wise, but some seasoning livened it up. A main course of meatballs looked promising being served with focaccia rather than the usual pasta and with herby potatoes on the side. This was spoilt though as the meatballs were barely even warm, never mind hot.
Overall, whilst this doesn’t have the appeal of smaller independents, it serves it purpose and we managed to get a table with no problem when many other places nearby were rammed.
