upon arrival @ reception the lady on the desk was not friendly, not welcoming & didn't seem to greet us with a warm feeling of glad you have arrived safely & did you have a safe pleasant joining, have you travelled far/long etc, no details in reception about site seeing locations & upon asking for advice we were shot down by responses like we haven't got any info, price if drinks in the bar was shocking, £12.40 for two drinks, bottled beer & small wine, breakfast was fab, staff were friendly @ breakfast, rooms were small & awkwardly shaped, no windows apparently opened, not even slightly, no fresh air in room, fancy Apple TV monitor failed to work, you needed a science degree just to switch it on, & then when you did switch it on you couldn't operate it properly, not enough coat hangers in room, shower was fine with a nice big rose head, heating system in room seemed to take a good 20 minutes to kick in & start working, the wifi kept cutting you off almost every 10 minutes, bed was comfortable so a good night sleep was had, contract cleaners trolleys permenantly left in the corridors day & night in the same location, view from bedroom windows wasn't pleasant, market tenders & stalls beneath clanging metal about erecting stands & removing items with big vans, not the sort of view I'd expect for price spent, staff not approachable or friendly, I wouldn't stay @ this hotel again, too expensive, too overrated, much much better hotels near centralised London bridge & bermondsey tube station, deeply disappointed with whole experience, walking distance from both local tube stations are about 25-30 approx

Stayed in October 2012

*Twin room (Club?) that had been made into a double (headboards to wall) made us feel as though we were in a Travel Lodge not a Boutique Hotel in London

*Peeling veneer to desk sides and also the top where the light had been dragged around

*Soiled Bed throw

*Sheet had come away when I woke up and on tucking it back in discovered mattress top to be full of previous guest hair/pubes!

*Tatty scatter cushions on bed with stains (Do the cleaners not see these?)

*Rough finish to interior paint in room

*Basic selection of toiletries that were 'green', and so much so that the shampoo container only lasted for one shower before it started to disintegrate into the shampoo when the carton was squeezed

*Noisy - Could here all that went on in the next room and endless slamming doors in the corridor

*Windows do not open to allow fresh air to room or corridors, so felt airless

*Iron old and worn so did not want to risk on clothing

*Major lack of quality control and eye for detail

The hotel could benefit from some tips from the 'Soho Group' as we actually paid less staying in two of their hotels over the weekend and they were of extremely high quality

Dear Morpheous15, thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the hotel. I am very sorry that you found our housekeeping to be poor and I appreciate photos. I have used these to remind my housekeeping and maintenance teams that such detail is important to our customers. There are often occasions when we do need more double beds than we have and we will zip together our twins to create additional beds. We pride ourselves as a boutique hotel and I am sorry that felt that we did not live up to your expectations.

Great hotel with very good facilities (wifi, tv, bathroom top class). Quiet location but still close to central London. 10min walk to London Bridge underground. Nice view from higher floors.

This hotel was a base for Hotel GB tv series.

Room Tip: Nice view from higher rooms.

we pre-booked a weekend in this hotel months ago so we were fascinated to see it was the base for the Hotel GB series before we went. Unfortunately I think the TV crews must have done some damage, the place looked a bit tatty honestly, there is no bar upstairs, just a very poorly stocked bar in the restaurant. They make a big deal of the Apple TV interactive information in the rooms but there was nothing in the hotel information about breakfast or the bar opening hours. The restaurant/bar was dead by 10pm, just a few staff sat around having a drink after their shifts. Breakfast was good but we were glad it was included in our room price as the costs looked a bit high. it was nice enough but we wouldn't go back, we got better value for money at the travelodge in Southwark and they have parking..

Room Tip: Go for a club room, the showers are really good and the best mattress ever !
