“Up to expectations”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 15, 2013

Great reviews on TripAdvisor sometimes lead to disappointment, but the Prix Fixe lived up to expectations.

Having been for a wine-soaked night beforehand we went for an orange and lemonade rather than wine, which was very reasonably priced. For starters we had the mussels which were tasty but not exceptional. I rarely have steak but chose the Steak Frites (a hefty £7.00) supplement) as it was mentioned in an earlier review. This was exceptional - cooked just as asked and well seasoned. The only slight disappointment was the chips, which along with many restaurants, appeared to be out of the freezer rather than made in-house. My fellow diners had the Sea Bass and Burger, both which appeared to be good for the price. The meal was accompanied by lots of fresh bread. We skipped desert.
The décor is very pleasant and the service was brisk.

“Soho institution”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 10, 2013

I have eaten here loads over the past few years and have never had s bad meal. The food is good value which means you can spend more on wine! The wine list is varied and well priced. The main draw for me is the location, in the summer it is a great spot for people watching and is cosy in the winter. Good staff and the manager or owner is really nice.

“I love this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2013

Ate here twice in two days after their recent revamp. They were closed for a while whilst they redecorated but thankfully nothing else has changed. Lunch is £10.90 for two courses and dinner £13.50 The menu changes constantly but everything is wonderful. Constantly busy, staff are nevertheless polite, efficient and enthusiastic and mine host is welcoming and happy to chat when they're a bit quieter. Having bigged it up with friends, they were suitably impressed when I took them here for a pre theatre dinner for which bookin is essential. If you can't get in, try Pierre Victoire, their sister restaurant just up the road nearer to Oxford Street.

“Nice experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 6, 2013

We were visitors to London and hadn't booked so called in on the off chance to dine prior to a visit to the theatre. They were able to accommodate our party of four even though they were expecting a booked party of 30 people! Good menu choice and the food was beautifully cooked with lovely flavours and well presented. Attentive service. My only grouse is that I prefer to tip what I think the service is worth and not the 12.5% charge that was automatically added to the bill.

“A Great Find”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2013

We've be going to Prixe Fixe for several years and quite honestly I don't think you can find better food at the price anywhere in London. Their fixed-price lunch and dinner menus are superb value and the quality of the food is consistently good. The atmosphere is buzzing and the staff are efficient and professional. Try their house wines, again great value and very good.
