Lovely decor - very very British, fully in line with the rest of Fortnum. A bit overcrowded at lunch, however both service and food were excellent. Only complaint is that staff took about 5 minutes to find back our coats, which resulted in a lovely lunch ending in a moment of panic...

When in London, one of the special treats we love is going to Fortnum and Mason's for breakfast. This trip, we ate next to a gentleman from So. Africa that feels the same way - great way to start your business or pleasure in London. The service is very good, food delicious, juices wonderful - and the silver service for tea is a real pleasure. Afterwards, we always stroll through the store for the specialties of F&M.

We like the relaxed atmosphere of Fortnum's and don't mind paying extra for quality surroundings and fayre. This time a simple request for some extra milk for the coffee, acknowledged by the waitress at the time, needed two reminders over the course of 20 minutes to generate a result. Naturally I declined the 12.5% optional service charge, which was removed with a further 25% Friends & Family discount applied: a thoughtful gesture. On leaving, the floor manager called me back to apologise the the slip up: another thoughtful gesture. I don't mind occasional slip ups provided they are acknowledged, which this one certainly was. We'll be back.

We regularly go to this restaurant for lunch. The food is good as is the service. We also enjoy the room which is pleasant to enjoy a leisurely lunch. The menu offers and adequate if somewhat limited choice and, sadly, changes rarely but nevertheless there is enough there to make you want to return!

I visited the fountain restaurant with my grandmother for tea as a festive treat as we do every year. As always the service was friendly and impeccable and the scones and jam just wonderful! For high tea in London this restaurant is surprisingly affordable and being Fortnums the quality is always superb. We enjoyed our tea for over an hour and never felt rushed or hurried. The ambience is delightful and I look forward to my visit again this Christmas.
